DANELECTRO 3011 - 1pu black electric guitar gig-bag Neptune New Jersey 1960. For sale.

A history unknown aside from the road scars. A well maintained survivor from the 60s capable of some serious single-coil grit!

www.vintagesilvertones.com/product/dane...

#VintageGuitar #Guitar #Danelectro

This guitar is a 1960 Danelectro 3011 “Standard”, double-cutaway, in a black finish with one pickup and a white “seal” pickguard. The finish shows its 60+ years of use with nicks, scratches, scrapes, and lots of genuine playing wear. The tone pot barely works. It’s very subtle, at best. The Short Horn Series was offered between 1958 and 1966. The guitar is 100% original and has all of the classic features: black finish with a white seal shaped pickguard on which the controls and input are mounted. It's a double cutaway semi-hollow body with a “Solid Center” construction consisting of a masonite top and back on a pine frame. There's one single coil lipstick tube pickup, a Coke-bottle headstock, and a two-way adjustable chrome plated brass bridge with a Brazilian rosewood saddle. The body has white tolex binding with two metal strap pins. This model is similar to and often confused with the two pickup 3021 model made famous by Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin. The guitar plays and sounds great. You can feel and hear the sweetness that ripened within it over the years. It comes with a gig bag. Grab this classic while you can. They’re become harder and harder to find.Description from VintageSilvertones.com

This is a Double Cutaway (DC59) 1959 Reissue Original Factory Spec/3021 reissue, six string electric guitar made by Danelectro in 2011 in a hand-painted psychedelic multi-colored finish. Aside from the fretboard, the entire guitar has the hand-painted psychedelic multi-colored finish including the “seal” pickguard. The guitar is an homage to Eric Clapton’s hand-painted Danelectro 3021 used during his Blind Faith period. This is a limited edition of 200 guitars and each guitar has a unique paint job. It is a double cutaway, masonite top and bottom with a plywood frame. This DC59/3021 reissue is basically new-old-stock (NOS). But, this model has been updated and made fully playable by the author of the Danelectro book: “Neptune Bound.” The author felt the guitar wasn’t playable as released. So he removed the paint from the fretboard and frets and replaced the stock bridge with a better quality chrome-plated one. So the guitar is fully playable and not a wall-hanger. The pickups and electronics are simplified to one tone, one volume control with a three-way toggle switch to choose between neck, bridge or both pickups. In the middle position the pickups are louder and act like humbuckers. This model was a limited run and has unique pickups and tone. They’re strong and bright single coils with a matt finish. And, these single-coils are considerably more clean sounding than most. The classic Danelectro-style bridge is adjustable for height and intonation. It comes with the original Danelectro gig bag, warranty card, and wrench to adjust the neck (the adjustment must be under the nut or in the neck-pocket since it’s not visible on the body.)Description from VintageSilvertones.com

Thinning the herd. I have loved having this mid 30s Gibson L-00 the last 20 plus years but it’s time to move it to new hands. It is at Carter Vintage Guitars in Nashville and as you can hear it is a great little guitar with lots of stories to tell.

It has two teardrop sound holes with chrome binding which are located on the bass side of the body. The guitar features a satiny smooth tremolo tailpiece and a rocker mounted adjustable bridge. It has a "futuristic", space-age design inspired by the early 1960's era of space exploration. The unique look of this model, with its metal piping for binding on the body and f-holes, got the guitar a starring role in an advertisement for the famous "Star Club" in Hamburg. Robert Smith of the Cure played one of these in his 1992 video, "Friday I'm In Love". This Saturn 63 is 100% original and in excellent condition, great for playing and collecting. 25 Years ago today the world changed. NYC went from being a target to attacked. The moment hangs heavy. So we're taking a break from our regular programming to honor those lives lost & the impact its had since that horrific day.

The morning of September 11, 2001, I awoke, turned on the TV to New York 1 News to the earliest coverage of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. I watched for a few minutes, from my Greenwich Village apartment, then grabbed my cameras and walked down Greenwich Street towards the towers. I documented the entire route and shot my last rolls of film that day. Shown are Greenwich and Christoper Streets with crowds in astonishment at the World Trade Center buildings burning in the top photo. The middle photo is at Canal and Greenwich Streets with the towers further engulfed in flames. Emergency vehicles flew by covered in the dust. The bottom photo is shortly after the second tower collapsed into a massive cloud of dust, smoke, and who knows what other toxins. We mourn the loss of all those lives lost that earth shattering day. The world was never the same.Description from VintageSilvertones.com
