Let's take a moment to scoff at IMDB ratings. From the off this ep is easily superior to the typical TOL as both drama, suspense and TV yet the IMDB cretins rate it miles below other eps.

As these novellas go I quite enjoyed this one. It wasn't anywhere near as metatextual as it might have been and it definitely seemed that it would be so in its description. Yet it wasn't as ploddy as it could've been in the absence of the expected meta hi-jinx.

Once more into the John Peel verse. On the set of a sci-fi movie real aliens are being used. Yet nobody employed on the movie seems to have noticed.

Well if it ain't Dale Midkiff from my #TimeTrax walkthrough! He's never gonna be my favourite actor but he did a good job here of a man getting his memory back in increments.
Good ep but was the most Vancouvery looking ep ever, yet wasn't dull!

Strong ep which is clearly from another source. Here a Harlan Ellison & A.E. Van Vogt story in "The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction" (Jan-71).

It's not too epic or moving just a good ep worked well.

Can tell this is a good ep as the IMBD reviewers gave it a low score. IMDB review section is a Hellscape.
It's got strong sci-fi, great characters and excellent direction and dialog.
The end veers into being too sympathetic and would be better if it stayed ambiguous?

Cliff Robertson who was in the very first TOL returns and the date of the original space flight is this is 16-Sep-63 which was the transmission date of that very first ep.
Nice job so thankfully it's another good ep. Maybe there's hope for S7.

1963-OTD #ABC premiered the creepiest show this 9yo had ever seen- #TheOuterLimits. I used to watch it peeking out from behind a chair. My parents let me do it so long as I didn’t have nightmares about it. I did- but I didn’t tell them. 😜

Finally an ep of S7 that works. While not that original as a shared mental construct for sleepers isn't new to this show, this ep landed very well. Both worlds inside and out were well acted and neither side was neglected by the director.

One of John Peel's better outings. Decent story on robotics and it doesn't fall into a mess in the last 20 pages like his last few novellas.
As ever with kid friendly robot fiction it anthropomorphises the robots far too much so page 60 on is just not real sci-fi.
