![comic panel: "The Littlest Whale: In Mexico's Gulf of California lives the world's smallest whale - the vaquita porpoise. [drawing of gulf and vaquita] vaquita means "little cow" they are about 4.5 feet long
second panel: "It is also the rarest - there are less than 100 left! - if it is not already extinct, the Chiense river dolphin baiji is even more rare than the vaquita"](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_fullsize/plain/did:plc:wrymvcm4ai4bnygltfaeophq/bafkreigbdiuyyjy5etbqjyierrbei2tflc7y42ftbimopprxo5z7psg6ri@jpeg)
![Panel 3: Image of vaquita and a fish caught in a gill net. "Despite efforts from Mlexico's government and conservation groups, vaquitas could be extinct by 2018 - UPDATE, THEY'RE NOT! - because of illegal fishing. Vaquita get tangled and drown in gill nets used to catch fish and shrimp."
Panel 4: "There is one sure way to save the vaquita: get rid of gill nets! That means enforcing laws and giving local fishermen dolphin-safe nets.
