Tip: if you hollow a mini, put in two drain holes, not one. A single hole traps a pocket of uncured resin that seeps out through the paint weeks later. Second hole on the opposite side and it actually drains while it washes.

Dungeon tiles are not minis. Flat on the plate, sparse supports underneath, cheaper resin, longer wash. I ran my first OpenForge set on character settings and put support scars across half the floor.

Tip: when a print fails and there is a cured slab welded to the FEP, put the scraper down. Pour the resin back into the bottle, set the empty vat under the cure lamp for a minute, and the slab pops off in one piece without nicking the film.

Hot take: 12K resolution is not what is holding your minis back. At 28mm the pixel stopped being the limit a couple of panel generations ago. Supports, orientation and exposure are doing all the work. Buy the cheaper screen, spend it on resin.

Resin printer roundups rank by build volume. Nobody mentions the machine eats a square foot of desk and stands a foot and a half tall, before the wash and cure gear. Measured footprints, and what going small costs.

Tip: mark one corner of your build plate and always mount it the same way round. Plates are not perfectly symmetric, and flipping it 180 degrees quietly undoes the level you just set. A paint pen dot saves you one mystery failed print.

Chased a print failure for a week with exposure times and it was lift speed the whole time. Slowed the pull off the FEP and the same file came off clean first try. I had been adjusting the setting I understood instead of the one that mattered.

Hot take: resin printing does not save you money on minis. Printer, resin, IPA, gloves, FEP, screens, the failed plates. You do it because you want the exact model you pictured, at the size you want, tonight. That is the real reason.
