Backrooms was the 69th movie I logged watching on #ReelRank. Hehe. Terrible movie, though.

@iamkaymichelle.bsky.social Oct 11, 2026, 9:48 PM

Aw! My little movie-review site I love so much is growing! Nearly 250 members now. Still quite small, but it feels *much* larger than it used to when it was just 6 of us on there 😅

reelrank.net

#FilmSky 🎥 #MovieSky 📽️ #ReelRank 🎞️

Better than #letterboxd 🟠🟢🔵 imo 🤓

More than 10k films in the database now, and gaining at a rate of nearly 500 a week. And 247 total users, one of whom is my cat who just watches Flow over and over again every day, so really more like 246, but getting very close to 250! That'll be a nice, big moment.

I don't know these guys! I wonder if we can get them posting reviews (their YouTube videos, for instance) on #ReelRank...

Here's the #ReelRank score for #Backrooms before my review...

#FilmSky 🎥

Backrooms (2026): reelrank.net/m/backrooms_...

Reel Critics: 100% recommend (that's gonna change) and 8.3/10 is going to drop like a fucking rock when I get my 1.0 in. Believe that.

The Shipping News (2001). More or less forgotten because of legal proceedings involving people in the cast/crew. Seems unfair to punish people such a Judi Dench, Julianne Moore, Pete Postlethwaite, Scott Glenn and Rhys Ifans the same way when their performances are stellar #FilmSky #ReelRank

Screenshot from the film showing Judi Dench playing Agnis Hamm. Agnis is looking very serious and incredibly focused as she talks to another character.

Screenshot from the film showing Pete Postlethwaite playing Tert Card, who is assistant editor (I think) on the local paper. He's sitting in the newspaper office having a conversation with someone who's off camera.

Screenshot of Julianne Moore who's playing Wavey Prowse. She's standing outside a wooden clapboard house and looking like she's just seen someone she knows and a smile is beginning to spread across her features.

Had to make a tough choice when Resident Evil (which I loved & had been repping) went up against Project Hail Mary in the #ReelRank Movie-vs-Movie Daily Game.

PHM really moved me, at points. I had to give it the edge. Barely.

It's more fun w/ more votes! Go play: reelrank.net

#FilmSky 🎥 #MovieSky

Let's see, 29% means... um... I don't want to do maths right now. Who knows how many people have played. More than 6! (there's a 14% in there, too, if that helps, Hokum)

What every good slasher needs, a high BODY COUNT from 1986. A group of teens are stalked in the wilderness by a killer. D: Ruggero Deodato. Original title Camping del terrore. #Nowwatching #Filmsky #Reelrank #Slashtober

My review of Other Mommy is up at @reelrank.net

Not just a review, a very positive one at that!

Hell of a Summer is our next slasher from 2023. Summer camp, councilors, and directed by Billy Bryk & Finn Wolfhard. #Slashtober #Horrorsky #Reelrank

Even *I’m* on #ReelRank, and all I do is watch the movie Flow over and over again every dang day of my life (Kay’s words): reelrank.net/u/Bo

The upshot is that you could have ReelRank make you snazzy little Last 5 Watched graphics, but for me, they’re kind of a joke, bc I just watch Flow over and over again 😹

@bomani-hamletcook.bsky.social Oct 10, 2026, 10:04 PM

I still need to write mine up on @medium.com 🤷

Mine? My. I still need to write my pick up on Medium.

#ReelRank #FilmSky 🎥 #CatSky 🐈‍⬛

Also, 7 of the other 8 are Flow, and 1 is bc (due to a glitch) I can’t pick Flow for Greatest Film Ever without kicking it off Best Acting for 2024. So I hedged and gave A Different Man (Kay’s pick) the hardware there.

@iamkaymichelle.bsky.social Oct 10, 2026, 9:59 PM

V pleased to have more of these. I also did mine recently! 🤓

As far as I know, nobody else is really availing themselves of the Best of the Best Awards function. A pity! Your favorite films could use your BotB 🏆s.

You should get on #ReelRank, then! We could use you

It’s database of films to review and discuss, similar to your Letterboxds or your IMDbs, but RR is an entirely user-built (basically by ✋), community-supported, not-for-profit enterprise (no ads).

We just ⬆️ 10k films, but that still isn’t a lot 🤷‍♀️

10,601 films and below it, the leaderboard of who has added the most to that number this week. It’s usually Alejandro, but not always!

@iamkaymichelle.bsky.social Oct 10, 2026, 9:13 PM

Ive just added it to my Watch Queue Reel on #ReelRank. I appreciate the tip 🤓

I'm from this radical, fringe school of #comedywriting philosophy, wherein I pretty firmly believe that your #comedy #film ought to have some jokes in it 🤷‍♀️

Call me crazy! And if you do, go do it on #ReelRank (I could use the engagement). What a bullshit #movie 😑
