@tonybarrell.bsky.socialI've often argued for the careful use of hyphens for the sake of clarity in prose. A "man eating lion", for instance, is very different from a "man-eating lion". Sometimes the lack of a hyphen produces outrageous results, as in this headline in a Kansas newspaper.

TL;DR: "Re" is a Latin word that's become an English preposition. If a substitute like "about" or "regarding" doesn't need a colon, neither does "re". It's just a two-letter word.
