Sable has seen lots of play time on the table (never fully painted). White/gray is still a challenge.

Rushed to get Shang-Chi & Iron Fist out of my queue. “Glad to be done” vs “Well done”

Close up of Doctor Strange (left) and Mystique (right). Strange was an early paint job, that has been touched up and reworked too many times. Mystique, who was finished today, looks both cleaner and much more skillfully done by comparison.

Here are some I’ve struggled with for various reasons.

Strange was one of the first I started; had major issues with glue, and didn’t base coat properly. Constantly looked like he’d been hit with a frying pan.

Enjoyed practicing several advanced techniques with Blue Marvel.

Blues were much easier to work with than other colors. Yellow is still my nemesis.

Possibly my favorite so far. Very pleased with his face.

The new board game, Marvel Crisis Protocol: Alliances was a needed chance to practice with whites and blacks. (Ugh.)

Model quality/fit is poorer b/c designed to be glueless. Needed trimming & filler.

Last night, I was able to get the basecoat down for all of the purple areas.

I'm telling you, @thearmypainter.bsky.social Magecast Magenta is such a great color. Its quickly becoming my go to for MCP purples.

Rather pleased with Emma Frost/White Queen minis. Bishop required rework, touchup, rework, and more rework.

New, high-mag reading glasses really helped with him.

Magneto was on track to be a favorite, but the matte coat at the end pooled and left a white residue. I filed it down slightly and did some major touch up.

Added hand-carved sprue and green stuff to enhance the basing.

Bought a bunch kids Vallejo paints b/c I wanted to learn wet palette technique and use dropper-style bottles.

My first few attempts were … not great. I’ve learned some about how to use these paints, and eventually reached “presentable”.

Bastion! I leaned into my cool blues approach to highlighting the blacks again, instead of my usual greys. Does it give it a more moody look?
