Michael Whatley accepted $27,000 from data center developers. That’s why he’s welcoming data centers into North Carolina even though North Carolinians are against them.

His priority will always be the corporate interests that bankroll his campaign. #NCSen #NCPol

“The SLF now plans to stop its spending on Senate ads in the state and redirect millions of dollars to more competitive races, a person directly familiar with the SLF’s strategy told WRAL on Friday.”

Sometimes a triage is obvious.

Other times it is more subtle.

But it's still a triage nonetheless.

And right now, #GASen and #NCSen are officially being triaged by Republicans.

Remarkable.

Are Republicans scaling back in Ga. and N.C.?

Republicans insist publicly that the Senate races in North Carolina and Georgia are still highly competitive.
Their TV reservations may tell a different story.
According to AdImpact, the NRSC is running coordinated TV ads with several GOP Senate campaigns in Ohio, Maine, Alaska, Iowa, Michigan and New Hampshire.
It isn’t running any with Michael Whatley, the GOP’s Senate nominee in North Carolina, or Republican Rep. Mike Collins, the nominee in Georgia.
President Donald Trump’s allied super PAC appears to be winding down in both races, too. No Going Back PAC has no TV ads planned in North Carolina next week and is on track to spend less than $90,000 on air in Georgia, according to AdImpact. This could change, we’ll note.
Planned GOP spending in North Carolina took a big hit last week when Old North Action, a pro-Whatley super PAC, cut $6.5 million from its buy. But the Senate Leadership Fund is still spending big in both races and can help make up some of the difference with $50 million planned in North Carolina and $26 million reserved in Georgia.
The GOP’s main issue is their candidates need as much help as possible. Democratic candidates are flush with cash and far outpacing their rivals. In Georgia, Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) booked more than $46 million in ads from August through Election Day. Collins has booked $1.6 million.
In North Carolina, former Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper booked $25 million. Overall GOP spending in the race dropped from $9.3 million the week of Sept. 15 to $4.3 million this week.
Triage time? Republicans have more money to spend this cycle than ever before. But Senate races are expensive, and the battleground is moving deeper into red territory. As Republicans start pouring money into Texas, Iowa and Alaska, it may make less sense to sink resources into Georgia and North Carolina, where Democrats have built big polling leads.

Big news indeed. This is the GOP all but waving the white flag on #NCSen and conceding the race to Cooper. #GASen won’t be far behind. Those 2 have been baked in for Democrats for months now.

OTOH, the GOP spending 7 figures on #KSSen confirms my thinking that KS is clearly seat #54 atp.

"There are clearly tariffs that are going to help North Carolina manufacturers."

2 seconds later: "There are clearly tariffs that are going to hurt in terms of input costs."

Dude, what are you saying? #NCSen #NCPol

@the-downballot.comOct 1, 2026, 5:52 PM

Even more vividly, Republicans are outspending Democrats in both #OHSen & #NCSen, but Democrats are nonetheless airing *more* ads.

Why? Because, by law, candidates pay the cheapest ad rates, while super PACs pay market rates—and GOP spending is heavily reliant on super PACs.
