Just because you are at #mtrainiernationalpark doesn’t mean every photo needs to have #tahoma in it. What are some of your favorite place at #MtRainier that aren’t Mt Rainier? These are from along the Stevens Canyon Road and #tipsoolake (look at those reflections!). #cascades

Our local stratovolcano seems to have seen a good amount of new snow.

Beautiful Narada Falls in Mt. Rainier National Park. Towering 176 feet high, this stunning waterfall often creates vibrant rainbows in its mist.

Christine Falls is easily one of the most picturesque spots along Mount Rainier National Park’s Paradise Road. The lower drop tumbles 69 feet through Van Trump Canyon, perfectly framed by the historic 1928 rustic stone arch of the Christine Falls Bridge.

Fresh off the Easel!

I visited Tipsoo Lake in Mt. Rainier National Park on the hunt for mountain reflections and alpine wildflowers.

I visited Tipsoo Lake in Mt. Rainier National Park on the hunt for mountain reflections and alpine wildflowers. The cloudy sky prevented any reflections of Mt. Rainier, but I did discover an abundance of wildflowers! This painting captures the beautiful blooms up close, in impressionistic color. Thick brushstrokes of oil paint laid side by side, without layering, create a mosaic or stained-glass appearance in the landscape.

For #MountainMonday. Here's another from my study of Mt. Rainier/Tahoma (2026). Here seen rising above Tacoma and the Pacific Northwest forest. #MtTahoma #MtRainier #Eastcoastkin #ECK #WCK #Tacoma #PNW #nature #photography #PNW #mountains #landscape

Mt. Rainier/Tahoma dominates the upper-center portion of the frame against a pale blue sky. A dense layer of evergreen pine and fir trees stretches across the middle of the photograph, obscuring parts of the valley below. Darker green shrubbery and treetops frame the bottom of the shot, giving a sense of depth looking out from an elevated viewpoint.
