Junk gravtank

#Nerdlings #MiniOfTheMonth

A boxy blue coloured flying vehicle. 70s inspired raygun cannon on top, and a pair of chunky propulsion units on the side Back of the junk gravtank. There's  kind of a bulkhead door and some random lights on the panel above it. Man this thing is really cobbled together is really doesn't look safe at all. It's emissions porbably far exceed most planetary enviornmental regulationsSide view of same vehicle. Pink glow from propulsion units and ray gun is a bit moe obvious in this oneHere it is unpainted. An astute oberver may be able to pick out some of the components that made it. These include in no paticular order a modem, portable minidisc player, soap dispener, some roll on deo applicatiors, and old bicycle lamp, various rubber washers and some googly eyes. In the fashion of George's Marvellous medicine I can't actually remember everything that went into it

Scratch built Seraphon "Cogfort "

#Nerdlings #MiniOfTheMonth

Wide angled view of the entire model. The temple (based on the realmshaper engine terrain piece) was scratchbuilt and is made to resemble the slann flying the pyramid across the jungle on their way to their next conflict, by way of his powerful magic.Close up of the Slann, along with green lightning. Because nothing says magic like green lightning 😀The guns of the original model are represented by the solar engine gun from the bastilodon kit, powering up to fire thanks to its crew of skinks. Other guns are represented by saurus warriors manning ballistae.Close up of the jungle base. Trees, running water foliage and even a few danger noodles are visible as the cogfort flies overhead

Auliya

#Nerdlings #MiniOfTheMonth

Command Razorback Auliya of the Arrakeen Jihad, a Space Marine Raxorback for the Black Templars chapter, built to 3rd Edition Warhammer 40,000 rules with a lascannon and twin-linked plasma guns; pictured here rearing out of the sands of Rakis, the desert planet where the Arrakeen recruits most of its Neophytes from the roaming Zensunni desert-dwellers of the Bedwine (known to the Imperial administration as the Fremen).Command Razorback Auliya pictured here with Na'ib Kynes and his command squad, accompanied by the Emperor's Champion Duncan Idaho. Auliya in the Zensunni interpretation of the Imperial cult is the God-Emperor's handmaiden, she who sits at His left hand.Right click and go to "open image in new window" to see this image in full detail. This image shows multiple views and detail shots of Auliya, such as the various weapons options that are available for her (including retrofitting as a Rhino), her fully painted interior, her Atreides battle-pennant and other added details.Various images showing how Auliya was converted from a Sisters of Battle Exorcist. R-click and go to "open in new window" to see in full detail.

The hardest part of the conversion was the turret; the moulded-in Sister of Battle was removed and replaced with a Space Marine gunner. The turret sides had to be cut away and the turret enlarged to fit the Space Marine's wider shoulders and the weapons themselves were converted to fit the Space Marine loadout; the Exorcist can't take lascannons or twin plasma guns and doesn't come with them as options.

The extra armour kit was made from corrugated cardboard and initially glued on with PVA to provide a flat non-porous contact surface, then peeled off and reattached with superglue.

Parts list:

-Sisters of Battle Exorcist (3rd Edition) - Rhino hull, turret, hatch surrounds, banner pole, heavy bolters, multi-melta, TL plasma gun body (multi-melta)
-Space Marine Vehicle Accessory Sprue (3rd Edition) - Turret gunner body, arms & head, seeker missiles, pintle storm bolter, rear hatch cover
-Space Marine Land Raider kit - Lascannons
-Space Marine tactical squad (3rd Edition) - plasma pistols (TL plasma gun)
-Forge World Black Templar Rhino Doors
-Black Templar Accessory Sprue - glacis plate, Crusader seals, sword, sword icon, Black Templar icon on banner pole
-Space Marine Terminator sprue - 2x Crux Terminatus on rear door, scroll hangers
-Chaos Marine Vehicle Accessory Sprue - spiked iron halo
-Cardboard box (150gsm board, C-flute corrugated) - Extra Armour kit
-Space Marine Rhino - headlight - used as searchlight to accompany multi-melta
-Space Marine Bikers (2nd Edition plastic kit) - gunner's legs

'Laserblade'

#Nerdlings #MiniOfTheMonth

A scratch-built Baneblade made from crafting wood, other wood, cardstock, receipt cores, foamcore, pressboard, and white glue. It sports a desert yellow and brown camo job done in abstract geometric stripes. Main barrel, sponson guns and upper sponson turrets are all laser weapons. Forward hull gun is a light autocannon. From the hatches on the turret can be seen an officer with a laspistol raised and a pintle gunner operating a twin bolter. While a scattering of pieces are recognizably 40k product, none of them came from an actual baneblade kit; they are dregs of Razorback and Leman Russ kits. A scratch-built Baneblade made from crafting wood, other wood, cardstock, receipt cores, foamcore, pressboard, and white glue. Mr Rumbles, Hero of the Revolution!!
And Keiko!

#Nerdlings #MiniOfTheMonth

A close-up glamour shot of the gloriously pink Hero of the Revolution, Mr Rumbles, an armoured fighting vehicle with all-terrain tracks, extra armour, a large calibre heavy machine gun and cute little ears welded to his turret. His green sensor lens is bright, like his future, and he proudly wears the number 4 of his former unit - 4 The Revolution! Blurred by distance behind him is Keiko, pointing the way.
Among the rubble and ruins, Mr Rumbles, machine gun pointing up and forward, is alert and ready to follow the mission of his friend and companion at his side, Keiko! She has her arm out, showing the way, and looks fabulous in her pink jumpsuit that matches Mr Rumbles' armour plating! She carries a sub-machine gun and wears ear defenders with extra cat ears, just like her robot buddy! You guessed it, it was Keiko that welded those ears onto the turret of the broken AFV-4 and named him Mr Rumbles after she reactivated him.A sad Mr Rumbles tilts his turret down as he realises the mission involves yet more death and destruction. Sure, he's a top-of-the-range armoured fighting vehicle, he was built for this, and Keiko seems happy when he's all BLAM-BA-BLAM-BA-BLAM and turning the Bad Guys into meat chunks, but isn't there more to life? Keiko hasn't even noticed he's sad.
Oh well.A top-down view as Mr Rumbles and Keiko advance through the rubble heading to victory.

They just added some big wheels and are have it dragged around by two enormous armoured beasts. It has been (badly) painted bright orange and blue.

On top of the hat is a Git holding on for dear life with a large artillery shell on top of it's head.

The tank is covered with many other Grots and Gitz. Some riding on the end of the barrel, others sticking out the aides of the tank with a variety of weapons. One is even hanging from the large ear of the goblin turret head. Two large boosters can be seen on the back of the tank. The whole thing is heavily weathered with chipping and rustball over. look it was a busy month and I didn’t have a ton of time so here’s me rebuilding a ww2 plane kit (a Corsair from airfix I think?) that I previously used for parts for other things then tore back off and rebuilt along with some other misc junk to bulk up the mid section and change the silhouette a bit. Also I’m so glad those luftwaffe decals from the wingtips I used didn’t show through. Picture 4 shows the model pre paint as proof it’s not QUITE as lazy as it looks

Oddball

#Nerdlings #MiniOfTheMonth

“For sixteen million dollars, we could become heroes for three days. You know a Sherman can give you a very nice edge.”
“Looks like we have some sort of military installation so we’ll make it the same deal as before, a triangular formation. I’ll go down the slot, Moe, you go down the right flank, Whiskey you go down the left flank. Keep it tight, don’t break it up until I give you the word. OK, button up and let’s go.” <cue music: All for the Love of Sunshine>
“We’ve got our own ammunition. It’s filled with paint. When we fire it, it makes pretty pictures. Scares the hell outta people.”
“Why don’t you knock it off with them negative waves. Why don’t you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don’t you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?”

This is an M4A3 Sherman. Yes, it is the short barrel 105mm version, but the minute I saw it, I know what I wanted to do with it. Took me way too long with lots of screen caps, and even then I couldn’t quite get it exactly like the tank from the film Kelly’s Heroes, close, but not exact. And if you are thinking ‘wait, wasn’t the Sherman in Kelly’s Heroes a 75mm gun?’ Yes it was. But again, I didn’t care. It was too much fun to worry about.

"C3XM1 Beluga" for Beyond the Gates of Antares.

#Nerdlings #MiniOfTheMonth

A bluish white hover tank with a thruster on either side, and a round turret with a big plasma cannon and a smaller one next to it, both glowing bluish white. The bottom is stained with a similar orange dust as found on the base. On the front is a dark area dotted with red sensors. It's primarily made from an old deodorant stick.

"The C3XM1, nicknamed 'Beluga', is an early attempt at a self-autonomous heavy weapons platform with an optional crew, an early predecessor to the now popular M4. Equipped with then state of the art plasma weapons, it was also an early experiment in self-repairing capabilities, allowing it to stay in the fight for longer, although the results were usually far from perfect, leading to misshapen patches as they attempted to patch broken armor and functionality.

Recently, a Beluga was found in an old Panhuman Concord stockpile on Talos IV, and the desperate C3 troops trapped there managed to re-integrate it into their combat shard with surprisingly few conflicts. The self-cleaning is a mess, it barely stays in it's assigned color scheme, the self-repairing seems over-eager and the troops swear it has a cantankerous mood, but as long as it fires at the enemy they're happy to have it around."A bluish white hover tank with a thruster on either side, and a round turret with a big plasma cannon and a smaller one next to it, both glowing bluish white.
