#JustListened (again)
I spent the afternoon once again with my close, personal friend Chelsea Wolfe. 😆
What an album, damn!
Highest recommendation!

@florgoth.bsky.socialI see a pattern emerging, because this is another ThrashMetal debut, this time by @kesghidorah.bsky.social.
Music that tells you to roll up the sleeves and fight for what you believe in. Massively energetic old-school sound!
Great stuff!
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialAnd once more a band I've never heard before. @dogtak.bsky.social's debut EP here is some very fine ThrashMetal that does not skimp on melody. Vocals, guitars and drums all sound pretty excellent.
A very nice introduction!
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialThis was a recommendation by @screamedthesniper.bsky.social from Friday and it's quite special!
Some very pretty Chanson that morphs into blackened Doom... Yeah, this is so up my alley! 😁
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialNow this is some extra proggy Prog! Quite old-school and with enough twists and turns to make you dizzy.
It's on the lighthearted side of things and a really fun time overall!
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialOkay, I expected Serena to drop an album that's pretty good, but I didn't expect it to be THIS good!
In equal parts BlackMetal and MeloDeath, and all around fantastic.
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.social@neonpherepapha.bsky.social recommended this one a few days ago and... it's a bit unconventional, but really well done.
These folks seemed to take Hardcore as a starting point and then went off into strange and progressive directions.
Pretty good!
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialThis was very much not what I was expecting! It's BlackMetal, yes. But the riffs and melodies would not feel out of place in PowerMetal! Combined with the screeching vocals, this has it's own kind of atmosphere.
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.social#JustListened and #NowPlaying (again)
Seeing as this is my second spin of the new The Ocean album in a row, I think it's safe to say that I enjoy it very much! 😁
Hardcore infused progressive Metal for those not familiar, extremely melodic with an amazing groove!
Highest recommendation!
@florgoth.bsky.socialStarting today off with some very pretty Folk. I don't think I've heard something from @ellispiper.bsky.social before, but I'm certainly impressed!
The vocals are light and gorgeous, every instrument sounds great and the production is spot on.
Very lovely songs!
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialAnd Trhä's second album from this week is similar, but is even weirder, wilder and faster.
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialAnd another excellent album, this time by Trhä.
It sounds ethereal at times, then fun and upbeat and all with the drive of BlackMetal.
This is once again an incredibly imaginative and completely engaging listen.
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialExcellent album by @chatpileband.bsky.social right here!
From societal to personal issues, there are a lot of relatable frustrations getting aired.
Really good lyrics and vocals, as well as some nifty guitar work.
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialNever heard of this band, but I really like their style.
Nice crunchy Psych/StonerRock, with some pretty fantastic lyrics.
Now I'm looking forward to their album in December!
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialAnd another new Sabbath-esque album. I hadn't heard of these folks before @posttim.bsky.social brought them up (thanks again!), but this is pretty great!
It's crunchy, groovy and another all around good time, with chemical assistance or not!
Highly, highly recommended
@florgoth.bsky.socialSeems like it's a day for new old-school PsychRock today and I'm okay with that!
This one just has that atmosphere and energy that gets me to crack a smile. Damn good songwriting and arrangement, and the vocals fit perfectly.
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialSometimes you need something old-school. This is some very fun psychedelic StonerRock / Sabbath-like DoomMetal that hits all the right spots.
Groovy sound, awesome performance and just a great time!
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialDidn't know the band, but I could not resist the title and cover combo!
Turns out it's progressive DeathMetal with an anti-war and anti-authoritarian message that's really well made!
Quite the nice surprise!
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialI have no clue how this found it's way into my emails, but am I ever glad that it did!
Very noisy and raw post BlackMetal with touches of Prog and Hardcore. Also piano and trumpet?
It sounds excellent, but who of you is that, hm? 😆
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialI agree, this is absolutely wonderful!
This is assembled from spoken word poetry, Hip-Hop, Calypso, Jazz, and a whole lot of other genres.
The overarching theme of finding hope and joy in community is just amazingly well presented.
Gorgeous all around!
Highest recommendation!
