‘immediately after graduating from the Paolo Toschi Institute of Fine Arts in Parma he made his debut as a caricaturist... Then he dealt with advertising graphics & began his activity as an illustrator... In 1932 he moved to Milan, where he collaborated as an external consultant with Studio Boggeri, of Antonio Boggeri, one of the first masters of communication in Italy, which was the springboard for him. In 1952 he won the ‘Golden Palm of Advertising’ for the Barilla campaign “Con pasta Barilla ù sempre Domenica” ... In the early 1950s he carried out numerous prestigious projects for other important companies such as Bertolli, Pavesi, Crodo, Bourbon & Montecatini. [Later] his passion for ‘pure’ painting led him to intensify the artistic pictorial production that he had always continued. He exhibited his work Totem 36, a 6 meters high steel sculpture for the Venice Biennial International Exhibition & held several personal exhibits...’

‘Alonzo C. Webb (1888-1975) was an American etcher, architect, painter and illustrator born in Nashville, Tennessee. From 1907 to 1909, he attended the Art Institute of Chicago. From 1912 to 1913 he studied architecture at the University of Illinois. He later attended the Art Students League of New York and worked with Dan Barber, a New York architect. Around 1920, he started etching and his work began appearing frequently in the French weekly L’Illustration. During the 1920s and 1930s Webb lived and worked in both France and the United States. In the late 1930s he moved to London, where he died in 1975.’
