111 years on from the first day of the battle of Loos.

10 men from Arbroath were killed that day. This puts it second only to Aubers Ridge as the towns costliest day of the Great War.

"At Rest" by Matt Gauldie, 2006, NZ National Army Museum.

This striking yet somber piece shows a modern soldier with child at the National War Memorial (NewZealand) in #Wellington, #NZ. The simple and austere composition speaks to how we remember the fallen.

On an upcoming trip, I will have a free day in the Cambridge (UK) area. The question is, do I choose (A) IWM Duxford or
(B) the Shuttleworth Collection?
Advice is appreciated!
