47th Annual Pow Wow was held at the end of September by the Council of Three Rivers American Indian Center. What a beautiful day it was with good weather, food, friends, the singing and dancing. ~Gretchen

Rows of brightly colored flowers growing with a grass path between each at a local farm coop. A pop of orange in the center, hit also pink, red, purple, and white, all against their green foliage, smiling in the son.

#Dew bejeweled #spiderwebs are such a work of #art in #nature. Found this one at another #3rdPlace favorite park on a foggy morning. #BlueSkyArtShow #BNWmacro #Macro #ClassicMono #Monochrome #PNW #ECK #GoOutside #Breathe #Notice #KeepGoing

Another favorite #3rdPlace is this nearby #Woodland retreat within walking distance. Going down these steps and into the #trees sparks joy. #Forests #Trees #Woods #BlueSkyArtShow #ColorADay #GreenSat #Nature #Photography #PNW #ECK #GoOutside #Breathe #Notice #Don’tGiveUp

A brown path with wooden steps going down into the woods. The leaves are still mostly green, but some yellow and brown are starting to show and fall on the path on this cloudy morning.

At the same #3rdPlace where I found that amazing stick, I also found this profusion of #flowers. #BlueSkyArtShow #BloomScrolling #Parks #PNW #ECK #Nature #Macro #Art #GoOutside #Breathe #Notice #YouMatter

A crowd of lavender-colored asters hosts a couple of visiting pink anemone flowers. Seems like spring colors, but this is what’s happening now at one of my favorite 3rd place parks in town.

We had a brief storm that tossed down a few #lichen -covered #sticks. Found this one at one of the many local #parks I frequent as my rotating #3rdPlace. #BlueSkyArtShow #Macro #Photography #HotStickSaturday #FungiFriends #PNW #ECK #LichenSubscribe #GoOutside #Breathe #Notice #KeepGoing

This is a small, 4-branched stick that fell out of a huge tree. It’s about 5 centimeters long, and features a few pops of bright yellow sunburst lichen (maybe some different types), several bits of pale sea-green hairy rosette lichen, some oakmoss lichen, and maybe some type of cartilage lichen - also varying shades of sea green. The blurry background is a mottled blur of autumn colors like brown, yellow, orange and green.

This is a bit of an odd #scape, located in the tiny town of Arco, #Idaho. Each graduating class paints their year on the #mountains visible from the town’s main drag. #ColorADay #BWFri #Desert #Travel #Explore #SmallTowns #GoOutside #Breathe #Notice #YouMatter

A monochrome shot of the cliffs of the Pioneer Mountains facing Arco, Idaho. Layers of uplifted rock rise above the high desert, with blocky white numbers painted all over them, visible from the main road. The numbers represent the years of graduating high school classes going back almost a century. Arco, oddly enough, was the first town fully powered by nuclear energy, which is interesting. Arco is about 20 minutes east of the entrance to Craters of the Moon, one of my favorite places on earth.

Thought I was very clever to get a shot of the #HarvestMoon, only to find out I was actually a night early. Ah, well. #Moon #ColorADay #BWFri #ClassicMono #NatureIsArt #GoOutside #Breathe #Notice #KeepGoing

As a #ForestFriday bonus, I got close up to some recently-refreshed #moss growing on a tree limb after some rain. #ISeeMoss #Macro #Trees #Forests #Woods #Photography #Explore #NatureIsArt #PNW #ECK #GoOutside #Breathe #Notice #Don’tGiveUp

Sometimes you need some fresh air, some new perspective, some sunshine. Specially in darker times.

These fabulous big basaltic #rocks just off the coast are important nesting sites for sea birds. #CapeMeares #ORCoast #PacificOcean #PNW #RockinTuesday #TidesOutTuesday #ECK #NatureIsArt #GoOutside #Breathe #Notice #Don’tGiveUp

A large basaltic mini-island just off the coast of Cape Meares sits in the Pacific Ocean on the northern Oregon coast. It’s dark with seaweed and probably mussels along the water’s edge, and then streaked with gray, brownish green and white going up the sides. On the rugged, domed top, hundreds of sea birds like cormorants tend their nests. You can even hear their calls above the wind. Dark green Sitka spruce boughs poke out from the right and left sides of the picture from where I’m taking the shot on the mainland. The ambient light is cloudy.

I feel like this #ThickTrunkTuesday friend is reaching out to give you a big, mossy hug. #Trees #Forests #Woods #Moss #ISeeMoss #PNW #NatureIsArt #Photography #GoOutside #Breathe #Notice #YouMatter

Looking up into the still-green canopy and the enormously thick, wide, and round, mottled grayish brown trunk of a very old beech tree. The leaves are dappling the sunlight and you can see some blue sky way up through breaks in the canopy.
