- Don't neglect what you already know! Enlist the help of others in the workshop and have students interview *each other* as an aide to remembering stuff about your own life. #GenHour

- Lots of people will give advice about talking to your family members, but if you can, also talk to your family members friends and neighbors (FAN research: extended family, friends, associates, neighbors) #GenHour

- Start a journal to record their thoughts. Not a technical "learn how to record your sources" (though that's a useful habit to start early) but how do they feel about what they're discovering, what questions do they have, what to work on next.
