Devil’s-bit Scabious is my absolute #favouriteplant this year. 💜 A few memorable moments:
🪻 Blooming in abundance at Distillery Meadows, Wiltshire, in June
🪻 Popping up in my own garden
🪻 Scattered across heathlands and fen meadows
No competition this year for my #FavouritePlant, please #WildflowerHour, please enjoy, once again, Ophrys fuciflora var. flavescens.
From Kent, obvs.
Probably no surprise that my #favouriteplant is the glorious Marsh Gentian. I love everything about them & this year they provided some extra magic.
Watching as the sun set, it was incredible to see the gorgeous blue flowers close for the night, something I'd not observed before. 😍
#WildflowerHour #FavouritePlant Possibly my favourite flower of 2026 are these variants of Water Avens. I found several in woods at Pickering, N. Yorkshire.

My #favouriteplant of 2026 has to be Isoetes phrygia, seen submerged in a temporary pool on the Omalos Plateau, Crete. A rather wonderful example of cryptic diversity—and, as a spore-producing quillwort, perhaps cheekily stretching the definition of #wildflowerhour!
My #FavouritePlant this year was the Harebells at South Gare on the River Tees Estuary in mid-July during the drought, because they were the sort of spectacular display of abundance and diversity that people go abroad for and we had it here in the Tees Valley #WildflowerHour

Grass-of-Parnassus remains my favourite, been flowering for 6 weeks so far on Lytham St Annes Nature Reserve, this one pictured on Friday.

I didn't see Musk Thistle this year other than some very dead ones during the drought, but this one was within the last 12 months. Seen in Rome last autumn. They are fantastic flowers. #FavouritePlant #WildflowerHour
A well known site of course but this was a new location within the reserve for me. Carex flava at Roudsea NNR.

I haven't had as much time to contribute to #WildflowerHour as I would have liked. But I offer this sedum album or white stonecrop found at Llanthony Priory in July as my #FavouritePlant from this season
So many to choose from but my #FavouritePlant this year may have been this gorgeous Bryum #moss from February #UrbanPlants #WildFlowerHour @wildflowerhour.bsky.social #ISeeMoss
Another #favouriteplant from this year, I have quite a few 😁
Great to see Rock Sea-lavender, Limonium britannicum thriving at both of it's Cumbria locations.

@wildflowerhour.bsky.social #favouriteplant Cowslips and marsh marigold by pond on 2 May this year.
My real #FavouritePlant has to be Henbane, Hyoscyamus niger, particularly these, more out of the way on the #Suffolk #Brecks, in sunshine with leaves like wings of a dark angel, appropriately. #WildflowerHour
