Both of these Jupiter-bound spacecraft are heading back to Earth to gain speed for the slingshot to Jupiter. #ESAJuice flys past on September 28th, #EuropaClipper on December 3rd, giving them both the opportunity to test instruments and hopefully do some new science. #EPSC2026

Incredibly, despite their different paths and development times, #ESAJuice and #EuropaClipper will both fly by Europa within 4 hours of each other in 2032… a first for studying the potential ocean world, with synergistic opportunities being developed by an international team. #EPSC2026

As someone involved in EJSM nearly 20yrs ago, sitting in #EPSC2026 talks and learning how #ESAJuice and #EuropaClipper are now doing science during cruise is pretty mind-bending: tracking solar ejections, radar scans of Mars, detecting Earth’s lightning from above, and even an interstellar object.

If you are at #EPSC2026, Planetary Research will give a brief overview of the journal tomorrow (thursday) at 12:30 in room Ganymede (first floor). Everyone is welcome to attend!

Very cool video made from BepiColombo’s engineering cameras while on the way to Mercury just released by @esa.int #EPSC2026 youtu.be/WJqWGdWERqk?... 🔭 📡

Made to the #EPSC2026 press briefing on @esa and JAXA’s BepiColombo mission, arriving at Mercury soon. Note plushie versions of spacecraft on table!

Four scientists wearing smart matching lavender polo shirts sit at a table bearing three models of spacecraft with faces.

Making a flying visit to #EPSC2026, Europe’s big planetary science meeting. Kicked off with excellent session on observations of interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS, mostly from @esa’s JUICE. Very cool to use a probe en route to Jupiter for science on the way.

Busy small bodies day all in room Earth at #EPSC2026 today. First interstellar objects, then I'll be chairing a session of our SB5, computational and experimental astrophysics of small bodies. Finally, science with @vrubinobs.bsky.social later this afternoon!

I had the pleasure of presenting our work on #asteroid #Kamoʻoalewa at #EPSC2026 on Monday.

Is Earth’s unusual quasi-satellite a fragment of the Moon, or an asteroid delivered from the main belt? Our results strongly favour the latter.

Here is the summary in one picture 👇

After a crazy first day at #EPSC2026, day 2 slows down a bit for my schedule. Thought to take advantage of that with a bit of sightseeing, but of course the weather is looking a bit.. Dutch... ah well, I guess I will use fhe time to work on my proposal, and drop in to a few #Enceladus talks
