Roddy owns the episode, but he is partnered by a lovely performance from Kimmy Robertson as the pleasant Alice of his dreams, wonderfully portraying being happy in love & the naivety of not knowing what's right in front of her.

Roddy owns the episode, but he is partnered by a lovely performance from Kimmy Robertson as the pleasant Alice of his dreams, wonderfully portraying being happy in love & the naivety of not knowing what's right in front of her.
Able to sound young & old at the same time, Roddy perfectly encapsulates the fun childlike wonder of discovering the world anew, an intellectual professionalism & a very sinister vengeful spirit willing to chop off a head or two to stop anyone preventing him achieving his dream
In one of the most calooh callay pieces of casting ever, Roddy McDowall, (who played Bookworm in the 60's series, read the audiobook for Tim Burton's Batman & even played the March Hare in Irwin Allen's 1985 production of Alice in Wonderland), is utterly magnificent as the Hatter
MAD AS A HATTER
Things get curiouser & curiouser as one of Batman's original core enemies arrives to provide a frabjous dose of accentuated perculiarity & mind controlling mayhem, while touching upon the sadness of someone forced into extreme lengths to avoid walking this world alone.
APPOINTMENT IN CRIME ALLEY
There's a great runaway tram sequence & a fab moment of Batman helping the police before an emotional finale around the eponymous & very significant "Appointment", but it all feels hollow, existing to set up a future encounter & pay off unseen past incidents
Mayor Hill is a great choice as the catalyst for the problem & although he has changed somewhat in the intervening years, he's still part of the problem in Gotham, undoubtedly planning on using his political position & convenient traumatic experience to avoid being held accountable.
I love how this plays out like a countdown, set in motion via a wonderful flashback sequence & gradually building throughout via a train crash, until a thrilling fight against time finale, clearly inspired by the 78 version of The Thirty Nine Steps & Basil the Great Mouse Detective
Clock King is a great cerebral villain for Batman to pit wits against & Alan Rachins is perfect (the fact Clock King's appearance is a spitting image of Rachins, only adds to his brilliance), providing a wonderful change of pace that shows how varied Batman's rogues gallery is
THE CLOCK KING
It is said that time waits for no man, but as the eponymous Clock King proves in this episode, a mere civic-minded citizen with a lot of time on his hands most definitely has the patience to wait for time to give him the opportunity to put right an injustice
The gripping Batman: The Animated Series episode "Two-Face, Part One" debuted on this day (Sept. 25) in 1992. This tense two-parter starts strong, and features some great animation here, as Harvey Dent struggles against but tragically succumbs to Big Bad Harv! #BatmanTAS #Batman
Here is my favorite characters for Mark Hamill. #HappyBirthdayMarkHamill #MarkHamill #Birthday #StarWars #CorvetteSummer #BatmanTAS #CastleintheSky #AvatarTheLastAirbender #TheLegendofSpyroDawnoftheDragon #TMNT2012 #Transformers #MastersoftheUniverseRevelation #TheLongWalk
The Batman: The Animated Series episode "Riddler's Reform" debuted on this day (Sept. 24) in 1994. The Riddler goes straight, though a suspicious Batman believes otherwise, in this exceptional episode directed by Dan Riba and the story by Alan Burnett, Paul Dini, and Randy Rogel! #BatmanTAS #Batman
Was backing up my stuff and found some old pixel art I made.
So here's a comparison between me starting out vs me a few months ago.
Guess I eventually got better at making curves over time.

Man, Cat Scratch Fever hits harder now that I've actually owned cats, not to mention lost one to illness.
Roland Dagget really was the most heinous villain on this show; who'd have called it that the biggest evil was a corpo asshole?
The Batman: The Animated Series episode "Eternal Youth" debuted on this day (Sept. 23) in 1992. Another great episode from the acclaimed cartoon's first season, Poison Ivy returns and Batman uncovers her twisted revenge plot aimed at Gotham's rich industrialists! #BatmanTAS #Batman
The Batman: The Animated Series episode "The Last Laugh" debuted on this day (Sept. 22) in 1992. This fun, lighthearted first-season jaunt finds Batman racing to stop The Joker, who has unleashed laughing gas on Gotham City, before every last citizen goes mad! #BatmanTAS #Batman
As for the episode itself, there's great moments (the announcer during the final confrontation & game is superb), fantastic animation & a cracking score, but whereas it has a perfect build up, it al ends up feeling extremely rushed - it could've done with an extra few minutes
Dick is also back & I love how it ties his college life away from Bruce & former career on a high wire as he's trying to overcome the fear, which leads to a fab moment of Batman flying blind into a woman's apartment & straight into a compliment, before casually composing himself
VENDETTA:
I love how this teases Killer Croc's appearance for half the episode via silhouette, shadow or disguise before a big battle with Batman & the way it forges an understanding between Batman & Bullock
I just wish it was spread across 2 episodes because it feels a tad rushed
