The series lasted 3 seasons, rising into the 60’s stratosphere of Batmania and quickly plunging back to earth.

The moment they greenlit the 3rd season & cut the budget, despite the addition of the alluring Batgirl: the season does suck.

YES -- er, WHAT? COMMISSIONER! "The Bookworm Turns" (S1 E29) gives us the biggest deviation from the usual #Batman66 teaser formula, with a shockingly violent scene that turns out to be a put-on: Dick spots the Bookworm on TV at the opening of a bridge; then Gordon is seemingly shot!

HAPPY BAT-BIRTHDAY to Gail Hire, born 9/27/1941 in Chicago! Gail has only 2 IMDB credits. On #Batman66 she played Egghead's moll Miss Bacon (S2 E13-14). It's a relatively rare case where the villain's romance with the moll is stated out loud. Of course, by S3 she'd been jilted for Olga!

I know this thread is focused on all the nifty signage props, but had to detour today to share this. Season 3 of #Batman66 was terrible for many reasons (except Batgirl!). This “trap” they are tangled into a knot where if they move they will crush themselves. More sexy than scary.

Also, some of the pegs for storing the disks have worn away such that the disk will no longer stay put. This is a common sight upon opening one of the folders. Makes them tricky to close! #Batman66

When #Batman66 came out on home video in 2014, my brother gave me the DVD set for Christmas. That's what started the idea of podcasting about the show. You can clearly see the results of 12 years of frequent use!
