Fanfic excerpt by amiablecrow, zine writer: I stared him down, not needing to consider the part of the master assassin that I was supposed to be playing, because the answer came to me easily. "Because we're both monsters, Lucenzo, but there's one major difference between us." I smiled coldly at him. "I've always chosen the kind of monster I was willing to be."

Square cropped fanart of Lavellan from Dragon Age: Inquisition by Gin, zine artist. Lavellan has brown freckled skin and brown hair, Dirthamen's vallaslin, and is depicted in an art noveau style from the waist-up. He is standing with his back, which bears numerous cross-hatched scars, to the camera, his face looking down, and is wearing a toga over his right shoulder. The background is pale yellow, with a golden circle bordered by the tree statues from the Crossroads, centered on Lavellan's frame. Golden leaves hang down from the upper corners of the frame and the tops of lavender plants come up from the bottom of the frame.

#AvisAlternata Writer Spotlight: Allie

@alliecai.bsky.social has been in the #DragonAge fandom since 2024 when she fell in love with the Crows. She loves putting our favorite avian assassins in various situations and is thrilled to be working alongside so many talented people! #zine

🔗 tumblr

Fanfic excerpt by Allie, zine writer: In the beginning, it is golden. It is warmth. It is floating endlessly through wonder and curiosity and peace and benevolence. It is unfettered existence. Then, it is first steps on uncertain legs. Sprouting seeds in barren earth. A farmer dreams of seeing his crops through early frosts; a shepherdess chases away the wolf, losing none of her flock to its hungry jaws; a soldier bears himself up by his sword to carry on, the enemy not yet defeated. Sweat on the brow, the brine of persistence. Bright copper blooming on the tongue. Bruised ribs and strained muscles and ceaseless repetition.
