Hail to near inanimate life

when you have no long lens, no camera tripod and sometimes a shaky hand 😊
#allotmentlife

Do you think them noisy goldfinches will nick our hats today?

Nah .. I reckon we scare them like we do the crows.
#allotmentlife

Had real problems keeping up with this one speed-flitting through the fruit trees today ..

but it's here 🥰

so grateful for inanimate life sometimes 😊

my grapes bring all the boys to the yard

try #growavineupatree and watch all the boys & all the girls go crazy in your yard
#allotmentlife

The young Blackbirds were going batshit crazy today for the slightly fermenting grapes.
I think they might have an addiction issue 🙄

Also, but of lesser concern was my inability to focus seemingly all day .. frustrating only .. now for that much needed glass of cheap white wine 😇

She's now in charge

Main pathway to wood pile & compost heap blocked for the autumn season 😊

Eying up a high-energy pre-long-distance-travel-snack maybe 🙄

#birds

This is why they're here .. grapes & crab apples but the trees carry a substantial insect load which increases w leaf & fruit decay, so attracts many insectivorous species.
The Blackcap is one but in Autumn often stocks up on sugar-rich fruit & berries.
Hope it stays the winter!

She was definitely eying up the still fresh grapes whereas the young blackbirds were more stuffing themselves as were the starlings though never appearing to do so 🙄

Grey Squirrel came by for a Crab apple snack.

Got more evidence today 2 convince me that a Crab Apple & Grapevine combo + Cherry & domestic apple trees alongside are some of the best draws 4 wildlife in Autumn .. with a new visitor to the lottie .. a lovely female Blackcap.
Spent most of the day sat on my bum just watching
