There's been a lot of #highered press about dual enrollment (college courses taught to high school students) growing, but now it's official: in 24-25 there were over 3.1M dual enrollment students, & nearly 1 in 4 community college students were high school students: buff.ly/0SEOHSK #AcademicSky

Check out this cool paper I wrote together with a couple of my favourite colleagues (shoutout to Henri de Ruiter, who did the most!)

It's about how citizen science and official air quality monitoring may gradually become more connected.

How much money do PhD candidates get across Europe?
It really depends.

Yes - taxes, purchasing power, benefits, etc., all come into play, but the differences are still staggering.

1/3 Molecular dynamics simulates every atom of a protein — but the honest version needs quantum mechanics, which is far too slow. Machine-learned force fields learn those rules and run orders of magnitude faster. #academicsky #biophysics #philsci

This week, HE Enabled had its first young stroke survivor on the show. Nia has a far-from-conventional story, which is why I feel so grateful to share it. Swipe to find out more and listen now: www.heenabled.com

Thanks to Nia for coming on the show!

1-	A photo of Nia on her graduation day in Cardiff. Her back is visible; Nia has turned her head to face the camera. She is wearing a black gown, a red hood with a white inner lining, and a mortarboard hat. She has long brown hair and is smiling. This photo is taken on the ground of the Principality stadium; full upper rafters with empty red seats underneath are visible in the background. Other graduands are talking and posing for photos behind Nia. At the top of the image is a banner with the HE Enabled logo and ‘New Episode Alert!’. Another banner along the bottom of the image shows the episode title: “54. From Young Stroke Survivor to Psychology Graduate and Singer: Nia’s Story”.Nia is on the show! She is a vocalist and Y Llais (The Voice Wales) 2025 semi-finalist from Carmarthenshire.
She is also a psychology graduate from the University of Cardiff, where she transferred for her final year after experiencing a stroke.
In this episode, Nia tells us how her stroke impacted her university experience.
After relinquishing her grades at her previous university, she had to re-enrol at Cardiff without the safety net of course credits. Her entire grade was decided in the final year.
We learn how Nia completed her degree during the remote learning period, and proceeded to start a successful career as a vocalist.
As you can imagine, the intersection of music and psychology is discussed at length!

There is a subset of people in the scientific community who start jumping up and down, screaming, "You're being imprecise!" whenever anyone is trying to write in a way that people who aren't scientists in a very narrow sub-discipline could understand.
