@bojak90.bsky.social#31nightsofhorror “The Crazies” (2010) …this is case of a remake being better than the original. While the original was unique with its multiple POVs the characters were very flat and unengaging, while 2010 has a more generic structure but has much more engaging characters
@no-brain-required.bsky.socialNow Screaming: Rope
My favorite Hitchcock movie. His equal unease & fascination with gay characters is on full sadomasochistic display. A power top and a skittish bottom go full Nietzsche & murder their 3way guest star.

@fridaypfender.bsky.social#31NightsofHorror night number 8 is Wishmaster 2: Evil Never Dies.
The Djinn are beings older than humanity, with enormous magical power. I don't think death is on the table for them.
I wonder if the cameo parade from 1 will continue?
@albinobandit.bsky.socialTonight's sequel is about my bro, Damien Thorn!
DAMIEN: OMEN II (1978)
It's on Disney+ in the UK. I didn't think I'd be watching movies about the spawn of Satan on Disney but here we are.

@erikodeldahl.eurosky.social16. Happy Birthday To Me. The one with the shish kebab. Just all out entertaining. Giallo-ish, but honestly, some twists in this one would make Martino, Argento, and Lenzi roll their eyes. #31nightsofhorror
@bojak90.bsky.social#31nightsofhorror night 8 “The Crazies” (1973) …I’d say on the scales of good to bad with “okay” in the middle, it’s good but just a bit more than okay. Has a great opening and the themes of incompetence and poor communication killing far more than the virus are evergreen.
…but
@joefielder.bsky.socialNight 7 of #31nightsofhorror: Mario Bava's Black Sunday (aka The Mask of Satan) with Barbara Steele.
@bojak90.bsky.social#31nightsofhorror bonus film “Grapes of Death” a sleazy yet very atmospheric and tense French horror film that came Out the same year as “Dawn of the Dead” and certainly has some zombie vibes but It’s more of a rage style infection where the infected are drawn to homicidal acts. Tone wise,
@fridaypfender.bsky.social#31NightsOfHorror night number 7 has a very tired Friday watching Wishmaster.

@chiles101.bsky.social2026 #31NightsofHorror Day 8 - Resident Evil (2026). The best Resident Evil movie, but that wasn’t a big crashed car to hurdle. Has fun with the video game-ness of it all, but when it could be creepy it gets bogged down in bad dialogue. Was PWHauser paid by the word? Last act mostly a mess. #filmsky
@erikodeldahl.eurosky.social15. The Stuff. Larry Cohen. Brilliantly funny. Amazing goopy effects, and actors that look like they’re having the time of their lives. #31nightsofhorror
@erikodeldahl.eurosky.social14. Shelby Oaks. Actually managed to scare me a few times. The end comes out of nowhere, in both a good way and in a way that makes me wish the movie had spent more time anchoring _that_ theme. #31nightsofhorror
