I think, counting noses, the Board's about evenly split on the Commissioner's proposed strategic plan, which he doesn't appear to think they need to approve, and a number of them are clear they do.

(this was the one they scheduled mid-meeting last week, as some complained they had insufficient time to discuss the strategic plan in light of accountability results)

I found it interesting.

That the longest-lasting result of the 1965 report on desegregating Massachusetts K-12 education is *precisely* the individual family action the report warned would never be sufficient is a pretty telling condemnation of Massachusetts education policy and politics.

just going to note that any press that went with just the #MAEdu MCAS stuff and aren't following the Board conversation are probably going to miss the boat

The Board has a significant problem with this, with it impacting who then is allowed to dominate the conversation #MAedu

Note that the articles you will see released about this in the next half hour were prewritten, prior to Board deliberation #MAEdu

As always: my recommendation is to look at the accountability results, as those have much more information.
