Last night, ~2 dozen folks gathered for our 2nd annual bed-warmer work party! In just 1 hour, we turned 320 lbs of feed corn & new socks into 179 microwaveable bed warmers to keep our unsheltered neighbors warm this winter. It was such a great mix of new and familiar faces! 🧦 #Kirkland

A bad but not terrible fern front spiral logo for a new paths network called the Green Loop in Kirkland with some fairly terrible text treatments asking "What is your initial reaction to this logo option?" The first is a white spiralling frond in a circle with an outer circle containing the letters GREEN LOOP. I'm being a little kind in saying that the text handling is frankly amateurish but suggesting how to combine these two bad renders into a bland but functional version.A scattered logo option, duplicated with colour intensity inversion, centred on what honestly looks like a whirlpool with a spout in front of it coming out of the second E in text "GREEN LOOP" below the whirlpool. Along the top of the logo are a few house-style buildings and some random tree symbols and shrubbery. "What is your initial reaction to this logo option?" "When did Kirkland get a maelstrom?" and notes that this doesn't work at all and the fern is better.A third logo, one in yellow, tan, and green, the other all green. Both have text Green Loop near them. The basic shape is a spiralling banana slug with leaves sprouting off of it for some reason. "This looks like a laundry or cleaning product of some kind. Particularly the one with the yellow. I get that you're doing banana slug, but it feels like something with a fresh lemon-lime scent that will deal with tough stains. Also for some reason it makes me think of garlic." (The reason being that the slug with leaves for some reason has the general outline shape of a big bulb of garlic.)All three logos, asking that I stack rank them. I am annoyed I can't just rate them because holy shit. Final question: Anything else about the logo and branding direction you want the design team to know? "A spiral is not a loop. Loops repeat. Spirals don't."

It’s tonight! Our work party to assemble microwaveable bed warmers is happening from 6-8pm at Chainline at Kirkland Urban. Jennie completely cleared out the Bothell Pet & Feed Supply Store for 320 lbs of whole feed corn, got 200 pairs of socks, and rounded up all the tools. See you there! #Kirkland
