Dear Robyn Chapman: Why would editors attend a pitch event when agents are submitting queries to them already?

A pitch event is a convenient way to discover new talent, and I don't have to worry about writing rejection letters. (Writing rejection letters is one of the worst parts of the job.) I can only skim a broad range of work and only reach out to the creators I'm interested in.
And there's always a chance I'll discover the next big author, long before anyone else does. That's the dream! From Robyn Chapman.

Dear Hollie Michaels: What should illustrators consider when creating the art file for their pitch?

Make sure you are sharing color samples and/or strong sketches with clear line work. Learn whatever magic spell you need to get it small enough to upload/send around but not look like it's low resolution. From, Hollie Michaels
