Completely away from the next WIP i was planning to write. Was editing an older WIP for a feedback group and got the undeniable urge to write its sequel, and that's what i did this month.

Into the Great St Bernard Pass, 2.5km up in the Alps. Pilgrims to Rome or the Holy Land would cross during the summer. But bad weather could make it a deadly journey. Many died.

There will be a book. The very thought scares me, and I am proud, but also terrified. I've taken steps now that I can't take back. I'm proud that I did that.

I'm "old". I wrote before the internet. Before I had a computer.

The internet is a constant distraction. I have all the reference materials I need on my computer, including a https://kiwix.org/ copy of Wikipedia. Internet off.

I started my WIP without using it. I would say that the research time would be longer, but this novel is many years in the making. I can't believe it would take any longer.
