#tbbchat my FMC is from our world, so she would be whatever about it. Meredith and Vas would be fascinated, while Alix would think it’s all some profane magic and try to chop it in half with her sword or set everything on fire.

#tbbchat technology is widely accepted, but not widely accessible. Partly because magic, which would run some of the tech, is forbidden~
#tbbchat magic~!! At least some of it anyway. My story is set in a fantasy world named Kaelum. Much of the technology they have from hundreds of years ago is a mix between physics and magic, like water elevators that were originally built by magical means. However, 1/2
#tbbchat hi! I’m AJ, a Demi/bi indie author from Florida, who writes queer normative fantasy (and is also starting a wool/fiber arts journey)
No links or anything yet, but some blurbs from my series that give a decent idea of the story. And the BluePit event I participated in a while ago is below.
CW: Mildly NSFW in first image, mildly NSFW flirting in the third, and a vulgar/violent threat in fourth image.
#TBBChat Outro:
I have a sneak peek of my limited edition cover art up today for followers of my scifantasy #ADragonForDarius. Haven't followed yet? Now's your chance! The limited edition covers are in celebration of my tenth published novel, and I'd love to share them with you.
What is happening? I finished my editing one of my book. Now I just need to put them all together.
Super excited about the #BookBazaar26 chat earlier today. I hopped in late because the books being talked about caught my eye. Check out #TBBChat and all the books that were mentioned. Dragons, fairies, robots, and questionable technology.
Haha, no. All the characters are facing some level of discontent, and that discontent propels them forward against all odds. For better, and often for worse. If It were me I wouldn't fuck w the Beyond lets be honest. If I asked you to lick the elephant's foot would you? I hope not.
#TBBChat Oh goodness, what is happening!?
Poetry is what's happening! Check it out!
And thank you for the awesome chat, @jakevanguard.bsky.social
#TBBChat I would say they are. The most modern story I go into is set in the 90's, but it's a bit wibbly wobbly. I just needed to make sure a certain thing was around when the story was set.
As for more, it depends. There's a lot of pros and cons to tech. Usually, but definitely less and less.
Nieve would be all in on green power solutions (nuclear) and interested in improving the world/slowing climate change, but I think she'd work for the wrong org all the same + end up doing more harm than good to the ppl around her. Farron would do anything to obtain their goals at any risk.
Suhlmore's tech is on par with a lot of victorian era advancements, but overall, technology comes with an aspect of distrust. The public doesn't trust the Beyond, and those who are working with its power to invent ways to survive don't always understand what they're working with.
#TBBChat I think plenty of fairies would ignore it, or find a way to mess with it- either for funsies or for malice.
There are some who would oo and ah and try to figure out how it works, at least those who weren't in the world when our modern tech came into being.
#TBBChat A4:
My characters are comfortable and so am I. Darius definitely prefers electric vehicles to gas-powered ones but otherwise, she's good. They don't miss tech that was lost, like smartphones, because they don't know they lost it. Drake knows but doesn't care enough to worry over it.
#TBBChat Yes and no, in terms of magic. There's rules, & it's passed via bloodline, or if you make certain deals
It has limits. Those limits are guided by rules & by the over-all ability of the person wielding said magic.
However, there are some who have magic who are happy to share it with others
#TBBChat Well, in Fairy Seasons, a lot of things work via magic. Technology in a more modern sense of our world doesn't come into play too much. In stories that are set in more modern times, it's a mere background detail.
Hiiii I'm V. I'm an author and an illustrator who makes grotesque adult queer horror novels. I love genre bending and making books that ask a lot of questions. Autonomy is a huge theme in my work.
Ah! Late to the #TBBchat, but the SpookyxPickle has made it!
Hi! I'm S.P. Green, a pickle in human form. I'm the author of all three books in the Fistfuls of Poetry collection and of Fairy Seasons.
#TBBchat outros!
Im gonna do mini shoutouts today for works I recently enjoyed:
