There was no gentle shift of the seasons this year. Someone flipped a switch and hot-as-balls summer became cooler #autumnal breezes overnight.

We're all stuck here on the #autumnal edge of western civilization, doomed to repeat the mistakes of every past empire that crumbled into dust and became nothing more than places for tourists to buy shirts and take pictures.

Crimson jewels gleam
Autumnal light strokes the thorns
The roses' last kiss

The sideshow audience ran screaming as the scarecrow entered. The #Autumnal King had risen again.

Jake lit a torch. “You’re no god. You’re just dried leaves and bones.”

The creature laughed. “Try it. Your tent will burn, too.”

Jake nodded slowly. “I’m okay with that. I breathe fire.”

Still Going Strong

As we have now entered
this autumnal stage of life
Where my wife’s comfort with
me and mine with my wife
Allows our love to grow
much much deeper still
Guided most by caring,
driven further by strong will

#autumnal

windblown eddies
crinkling, cracking, crunching
the susurration lulls us
into dreaming

it definitely
feels
#autumnal
at many
levels
the weather
has changed
the balmy
hot days
have now left
and we
are cooler
with a strong wind
blowing from
the west
my age
is definitely
autumnal
if not wintery
with
much of
my physical
strength now
gone
I do
arm swings
now
it's true

Leaves sway in the wind
Embrace of vibrant colors
An #autumnal dance

In the #autumnal breeze she approached the worn bridge

A chill came over her, not from the weather, but from the specter lurking beneath the structure

She produced an ancient dagger, just as the phantom emerged

She had killed him once before, now she would make it permanent

"An Autumnal Rhapsody"

A touch of dark
Upon my blue

Hitting shadows
Nervousness runs through

A single leaf hits the floor
It may as well be December
My notes have all fallen

Like the Robin larking through
We find a way to keep warm
It is our own journey
To
The
Years
End

Nothing says autumnal vibes
Quite like a waxing moon
Kissing oak and loblolly pine
As Venus looks on behind.

And we realize all of life
Loves like this, and even we,
Small, vulnerable, human,
Are part of this great mind.

wrap up those thoughts
in your #autumnal scarf
as we near the crisp end
watch leaves fall like tears
burned into the ground
small flames, fluttering
in the bitter sunshine wind
eyes that turn orange
to light the way

The invite withered under delightful songs.

Bravery did not guide him further than the dying leaves.

They cried for the passing of nature's youth, the coming of #autumnal remembrance.

A twinkle in the eye of mother shined when dewdrops reflected glee.

Supposedly the temperature is quite warm this morning, but it feels chilly #Autumnal

No. Not today. I'm going for a walk. I'm going to go and find some moving water and listen to it babble as I sit on a bench and read. I'll enjoy the low hanging sun and #Autumnal flush of the leaves on the trees. You can leave me a message. I'll try my best to get back to you later. Maybe.
