A message from Rob Smith, President of the United Conservative Party of Alberta, (part 1) which reads: I know many of our members have expressed disappointment in our United Conservative Party of Alberta government, our caucus, and Premier Smith for launching the $4-million advertising campaign on September 10, to promote it's position ahead of our upcoming October 19th referendum. While many, including the official opposition, attribute this expense exclusively to supporting Premier's support for "a sovereign Alberta within a united Canada," I want to share with you what Premier told me directly. Premier understood from announcement of this expense that it would be misinterpreted. She knew this but truly wants Albertans to vote "Yes" for questions 1 through 9. That is her biggest priority.

A message from Rob Smith, President of the United Conservative Party of Alberta, (part 2) which reads: Premier wants a very strong mandate from Albertans on the questions she actually called the referendum for back in February namely:
- Immigration Control
- Eligibility for Provincial Programs
- 12-month residency requirement
- Fees for Temporary residents
- Proof of Citizenship to vote
- Provincial Appointment of Judges
- Abolishing the Senate
- Opting out of federal programs
- Provincial laws taking priority
The $4 million is primarily and predominantly to ensure strong and convincing YES votes to these questions to give our Premier and UCP government leverage in negotiations with both the federal Carney Liberals and her provincial counterpart leaders. We need to support Premier Smith's objective for massive Yes votes on the first nine questions. Of course Premier knows the $4-million expense also affect question 10, or the one added in May regarding "independence". And she assured me, emphasized, I'd even say, that the included language and promotion regarding this question would be as neutral as possible and not nearly as persuasive as for questions 1 to 9, even though we all know her stated belief in and support for "a sovereign Alberta within a united Canada". I've heard some of these ads, and I believe what Premier told me. I feel the ads say: Vote Yes to the Nine, and Be sure to vote on 10. So please share my information with as many as you can to dispel the misconception!

Why do we need scrutineers for a referendum?

It’s not a real election and not like our most recent voter list was leaked to the most unscrupulous separatist with a history of violating election laws.
