Blue Bird, Black Bird is a gay superhero story about vigilantes in the Bird Network, pushing back to do whats right in a world that has regulated and brought super powers under the government's control. Launching with the book bazaar October!

Both Blue Bird and Black Ravens lives would be so much simpler if super powers didnt exist! That's for sure.
Blue would have a nicer, easier life-- and Raven wouldnt need to fight his crusade for safety.
But they also never would have met and started this messy romance! 😱

Their world is so similar, they would settle in just fine. If anything, Ruth King would love a world without super powers! Its something he himself really disdains. He works hard to overcome people with powers as the Black Raven-- a vigilante with no powers at all!

Unsurprisingly, most tech is still what we have today and most people have access, as a modern earth AU.
As for the chemical compound that gave people powers, its not accessible (yet).
The company that ran the trials was sued and made defunct before powers began manifesting.

The stort takes place in the modern day, so phones, phone calls, Tweeps on Tweeper, this all matters, as our MC is a journalist and a Vigilante.
Also, the drug that gave people super powers is a biochem miracle that world governments desperately want to remake!

#tbbchat I think Lana would likely enjoy a bit more tech in Kaelum, more reminiscent to home — especially quicker ways to travel that don’t involve riding on the back of a dragon.
