This #FindsFriday, check out these beautiful bronze bowls from the Iron Age Kingdom of Urartu, Armenia.

Inscribed with the names of Urartian kings alongside symbols of royal & religious authority, they acted as unique, portable expressions of power.

This is a Venetian soldino of Doge Leonardo Loredan dating to AD 1501 - 1518. In the 15th and 16th centuries the English economy experienced a shortage of halfpennies. Therefore people began using foreign coinage such as the soldino. #FindsFriday finds.org.uk/pas/recorded...

A fine relief brooch was found together with a finger-ring and spiral beads in one of the jewellery caches at Sandby borg in 2010. It quickly became clear there was evidence of a massacre as more and more bodies were found on the site at Öland

Happy #FindsFriday 🥳

This medieval cross-slab at the side of the historic embarkation point of Martin's Haven slipway, Pembrokeshire, was unearthed by chance during rebuilding of a Victorian wall in 1984.

It shows the deep antiquity of the maritime crossing point here.

Fascinating talk by Dr Tom Lucking who as a #detectorists discovered the Winfarthing Treasure in 2015 🪙
What a remarkable project by a small village 😊
Looking forward to attending as many of the future talks on the project as work shifts allow 🗣
