Sept 11 – Disgust
The look of disgust on the reporter’s face as Henry pulls back from kissing Alex is more than enough for him to endure whatever “yelling at” they’re going to get from the crown and their families. The dazed look on Alex’s face that replaces the hurt that was there moments ago is the cherry on the cake.
“Baby, if you’re gonna keep laying one on me like that we just might give this douchenozzle heart failure if how constipated they look is anything to go off.”
Henry chuckles, leave it to Alex to make the moment they’re going to get flack for even more likely to be not just looked over with his silly antics. As he leans in to kiss him again, he can’t find it in him to care though.

Sept 10 – Fear

Fear isn’t often a word used when people talk about Alex these days but right now he was the most afraid he’s ever been. They’ve just signed the papers to bring home their first child, it’s a step they have worked every angle of extensively and spent more than enough time getting to. Alex has been confident they’re ready for this step and it’s the right time, but now as the ink is drying he feels the overwhelming anxiety that has somehow been missing so far.

As if he knows exactly what is going on in Alex’s head, and he will be the first to admit that after this long together it’s entirely likely, Henry takes Alex’s hand in his and squeezes. He leans in, kisses his cheek, and whispers, “There is nobody else I would want to take this journey with.” Those 12 words are exactly the soothing balm Alex’s nerves need and he feels the anxiety being pushed back and the fear dissipating. They’ve planned this as well as they could, and now they get to experience the joy of having someone else to share their love with.

Sept 9 – Sad

“I’m sad,” Henry whispered when his dad found him in the garden.

“Okay, can you tell me why?” His father pulled him into his arms as he asked the question. Henry shook his head, he didn’t know why, he’d been lonely with Bea and Pip both in school but it was not the first year they’d been in school. “That’s okay,” Henry’s dad whispered into his hair as he held him close.

Even on the worst of Henry’s sad days being wrapped in his dad’s arms made the sad feelings less. Now, the garden had changed to a much smaller one but Henry still found himself in it on days he’s a bit sadder. Only now the arms that wrapped around him were of the man he loved more than he thought he could ever love anyone, the man who if Henry had his way would be his forever.

Sept 8 – Happy

Alex didn’t recall ever feeling quite like this, he’s not even sure happy is a strong enough word to describe it. He’s standing in front of all their family and friends Henry across from him and if the way Henry is blinking is anything to go by he’s having as hard of time as Alex is holding back the tears. It’s probably something they can be forgiven for though, after all it’s not every day you marry the love of your fucking life. To say it’s been a bit of an adventure getting here is a bit of an understatement, but Alex can’t help but think he’d do it over and over if it got him here.

When Henry takes Alex’s hand he can’t focus on anything other than the feel of Henry’s hand around his and how much he’s going to luv this man for fucking ever.
