#hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes My idea of translation has definitly been changed. I didnt understand how much influence translation can has. I have never had the perspective that you demonstrated for it.

#hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes It did have some good vibes in my body, at points the banjo was nice, but after so many minutes it felt repetitive.
#hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes This post was very hard to understand I guess the message, I didnt really think it sounded good so what did the writer have in intention
Are we truly able to translate languages back and forth between eachother without truly altering the total meaning of what was initially said? #hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes
A possibility Yingellishi opened was the idea that maybe I could try and do this with arabic, taking the different letters of the arabic alphabet and their sounds and making english words to see what it comes up with. #hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes
It disruopted my idea of translation becuase normally I can take english and understand, interperet, and respond. But with this I couldn't even udnerstand what was going on, especially the words on the bottom which had no correlation. #hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes
Yingelishi made me feel extremely confused and disoriented because a language I could see and hear still made no sense to me becuase It felt like there was no reason or meaning to it. #hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes
I think the moment I stopped listening was once we started talking about the telephone stuff because, one the travel section was so long, and two it felt like it was getting extremely hard to listen to. #hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes
#hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes A question that I have after listening to Yingelishi is how the text on top connects to the translations on the bottom
#hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes A possibility that I think Yingelishi opened was to make myself be more open when listening to certain pieces and not look for one clear answer, but really indulge myself into the piece and what it sounds like
#hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes This piece disrupted my traditional thoughts that I had mainly about translation. Translation to me always felt like something simply from one language to the other with similar meanings, but with this I felt like there was a completely different meaning on both sides
#hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes I am still not sure if Yingelishi made any sense to me at all really. The part that I felt I understood the most was the main story of the woman singing, but I really only caught onto that after "travel"
#hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes One moment where I stopped trying to understand was when it came to reading the translations at the bottom. I stopped trying to connect them and just read them as individuals maybe having similar concepts or words
Can you really say you know Yingelishi if you don't truly understand it? I myself am not really sure of the answer. #hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes
It opened up maybe listening to songs in my language of origin to help me connect better with my culture and traditions. #hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes
It disrupted my idea of media because it wasn't something I fully understood, but something I was inclined to keep listening to. It's very different than any other song because usually you skip songs you don't know or understand. #hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes
It was kind of like when you like a song but you've never heard it before and you don't really know what they're singing about, but the rhythm is nice and you keep listening. #hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes
In the beginning I kept trying to understand what everything meant and trying to recognize every english-ish word I heard. Eventually, I stopped and that's when I really started to listen to everything. #hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes
The question it left me with is: if a piece works without being fully understood, does it still count as communication? I'm leaning toward yes. #hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes
For my next SMEs, I want to play more with sound and voice, maybe mixing Spanish and English or making something meant to be heard, not just read. #hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes
