A great egret, a Canadian goose and a mallard in a small pond of blue-green water. The egret is in the left facing right with pond grass behind it and a large tree hanging over head from the shore. The goose is swimming on the far right facing away from the camera and the duck is behind them in the center facing the shore on the left. The egret is all white with a yellow bill, the goose is brown with a white butt and a black head with a white stripe and the duck is all white with a yellow bill.

This is an American Avocet, relaxing in the shallow water just off the shore of Frank Lake, Alberta 🇨🇦. Many of these beautiful waders visit southern Alberta and Saskatchewan to breed in the summer. They are truly a lovely bird.
