Keenly reminded of the season change.

The view is framed by tree branches with leaves illuminated in morning sunlight.Branches of a tall tree hanging over a narrow laneway in a residential area. Green leaves are backlit by the morning sun which is rising over a row of garages. Exterior of Tiny’s, a cafe tucked among houses on a leafy residential street.

The adolescent cygnet, seen here swimming through liquid lime Gatorade, expresses its dominance by throwing historic amounts of shade at the cameraman.

The adolescent swan, or cygnet, can be found in lakes across North America. Moving with subtle irritation through water heavily stained a radioactive chartreuse, this terrestrial day-active juvenile is currently entering its awkward teenage phase. Notice how it casts a deeply judgmental glare backward at the camera, completely aware it is being filmed before its adult glow-up. For more information on the moody radioactive cygnet, contact the Canadian Wildlife Service in Ottawa.

Cabbagetown, Toronto.

view of Jet Fuel Cafe which has been in that location on Parliament St for 34 years. The workhorse espresso machine is up front. Bikes are hanging on the wall and the art is hundreds of caliper bike brakes.

The Shuffle Demons launch the 11th annual Kensington Market Jazz Festival with a parade on Augusta St Friday.

A grassroots, community-driven, artist-run, volunteer-fueled jazz festival. Easily accessed by the 77-B on the T-T-C.

A Japanese restaurant I've always been curious to try, based solely on its outdoor physical appearance.
Maybe good?

📍 Trillium Park, Ontario Place

Very birdy out there this morning. The city belongs to the white-throated sparrows today.

Being deaf means I get to enjoy his beautiful, intricate wings in absolute silence, while my neighbors are currently losing their minds. 😆

Truly the ultimate life hack. 🪰🪶🌿😏🤙🍁

A macro side-profile of a dog-day cicada on a tree right outside a window. With its massive bulging eyes and intricate clear wings, it looks exactly like a tiny, unhinged backyard dinosaur that showed up an hour ago specifically to ruin a work-from-home Zoom call with the song of its people.

Greeting from the Beaches, sand and streetcars abound.

Always nice to see a visual representation of the old CLRVs still displayed.

They truly were Toronto's streetcar; old, rickety, rusty and omnipresent.

The Beaches mural on a side of a building on Queen Street East.

Oddly they misspelled Beaches as Beach. I guess they ran out of room.

Cycled in the Don, as a way to say good-bye to my Dad, whose ashes were interred yesterday.

Found 3 old railway spikes after following a blue jay. Will give them to my sisters.

Wiped out on my bike, bruised and scraped. Found out shortly after I had a flat. A strange day.

Thunderdome bridge over the railway line. A fitting spot where our paths meet. Railway for dad, bike path for me. He worked with trains and was obsessed with them all his life.

Image of blue bike on rusted steel bridge over a railway line flanked with green trees. 3 old rusted railway spikes strapped down with a blue bungee to my bike rack.

Corktown birdhouse. Shot on film, probably Plus-X or Tri-X, I can't remember which.

Black and white photograph of a tiny birdhouse hanging from a pole. Its shape is mirrored by the white walls and sloping roofs of the houses behind it. There's a window in the house to the left and the shadow of a tree on the wall on the right.
