People say that we should remove the rich. People don’t say that we should remove meat, dairy and cars and stop
having babies.

It is faster to kill primary old growth forest (the main water and CO2 pump on Earth) than for it to grow back (which takes hundreds of years). As we grow human populations and eat more meat per person, the last primary life support systems of Earth are being destroyed for our follies. #NTHE
Ecologists live in their own private world. If you have any other job, like nurse, teacher, IT or banking, you are NOT living in the same world as ecologists and don't have to feel bad about the state of the world. You can sympathize with ecologists. Pity them. But no need to empathize. #NTHE
When we deny causes like population and consumption of animals and cars, we basically make every climate discourse a meaningless distraction 🚽
We would all be better off playing games or going for a walk instead.
In the past, we treated nonhuman animals much better than we do today. Today we have more tech but we value life far less than we did in the past. Our life experience is a tortured and abusive one today. Peak pain and peak suffering in the history of pain and suffering.
I’m sitting next to a protected forest as I write all this. I have to look for insects.
It’s almost inconceivable what “5% decline per year” GLOBALLY means when it affects a whole taxon. In Europe it’s even faster. 70% of ALL insects gone since 2020. Imagine being born in 2020? #NTHE
We love nature like Epstein loved women. We love life like Trump and tech bros love life.
There are 2% of #sparrows left in Europe compared to when I was born.
There are only 0.7% of #spiders left compared to 1980.
Shifting baseline syndrome is over. There never was a baseline to begin with. The disease has now killed the only host there is. #NTHE

Airports are the new ports of call. They are great metaphors for:
- Insatiable greed and apathy
- Pandemics
- Invasive species
- Running (flying) away from ourselves
- Near term human extinction
Status: Europe is installing ACs in schools and care homes. Meanwhile there are no insects left, water is running out and food stops growing. People discuss Trump, the AfD, AI and wars while making babies, eating meat, cheese and while driving cars and flying on holiday.
Looking forward to the 2026 and 2027 analysis.
Problem: Drought
Solution: Irrigation
Problem: Heat
Solution: AC
Problem: Humans
Solution: Near Term Human Extinction
The #EU killed 70% of ALL insects, also mosquitos, since 2020.
What happens to flowering plants when we have killed a whole #pollinator #taxon soon? No more #sex. What happens to us?
Model estimates are one thing. They err on the side of least drama. Real insect counts show that we kill 63% of all insects in only 3 years now. We will lose ALL insects, a whole #taxon, in 10 years. It's like climate scientists who look at models but deny observational data.
Every fraction of a degree matters? Accepting collapse means giving up?
People who have never mentioned the need to reduce populations, meat, dairy, cars and pets say these things above with a straight face. They want to deny that they have given up and don’t want to change themselves. #NTHE
Europe lost 70% of all insects since 2020. The UK lost 63% in just 3 years. What happens to (wild) plants when they can only self-fertilize aka inbreed aka when systemic incest ends natural selection aka evolution? #NTHE

Supposedly empathetic and smart people say the following with a straight face:
If I rape and torture or not, doesn’t make a difference. Rape and slavery have been around since ever. Not raping and not enslaving is a purity contest that doesn’t help “any body”…
I don't know about that and hope there is not much to it. Social media disguises who we are?
I've adapted a term Jacob uses in the context of Guy McPherson: near term human extinction #NTHE. Personally I don't believe that we'll go extinct by 2030 but don't like how Guy was treated.
