10/4 - SLDF!
I'll use today to share a sleeper hit pack - while the 1st league forcepack I loved the instant I heard "Atlas II", the 3rd Battle Group I became enamored with the Excalibur and Malice as I painted them up and read about them, had to play with 'em immediately!

It's 3rd day of #Mechtober! I celebrate all the #BattleTechvideo games. From playing the 1st #MechWarrior in DOS, to piloting a Kodiak in Ghost Bear Legacy, to launching a merc unit with my son in MW5Mercs, I've played every game I had access to over the years. @catalystgamelabs.bsky.social

#MechTober 3 - Video Games

I’ve most enjoyed the strategy computer games in the setting like HBS BattleTech and MechCommander. My painted FedCom minis are even inspired by MechCommander.

Raven, Hunchback, Commando, and Centurion miniatures painted blue with gold accents

A Timber Wolf miniature facing off against a Centurion, a Commando, and a Raven. A Hunchback lays on the ground.

Day 3 of #MechTober is Video Games and I'm going to highlight something lost to the mists of time - the old text-based #BattleTech MU*s. They were the first place I found a community online and I loved them. It was sad to see them die out.

#battletech #mechtober day 3 is about video games! 1995's MechWarrior 2 was my introduction to BattleTech, a hobby I kept up with voraciously ever since. The novels, the sourcebooks, the games... Until becoming a poor student and struggling new professional made me feel like I had to give it up.

Are you ready to start week 2 of #MechTober!

This week is all about famous Commands in the history of #BattleTech! You'll find a bevvy to talk about this week, with five all-star mercenary organizations, the SLDF (in any of its forms), and your favorite House forces!

Well I’ve left it to day 3 of #Mechtober , but I figured this is the best point to do all my Battletech games.
I got into Battletech back in the 90’s; my sister’s BF of the time got me into it when he introduced me to the 3025TR and Mechwarrior book, we even sat there and built a 2 regiment merc…

Day 3 of #Mechtober and it's time to talk about video games! Honestly, while the books got me into #BattleTech, video games kept me there. While I haven't always had time, money, or a local group to play on tabletop, I can always fire up my PC and travel to the Inner Sphere. (Check the alt text!)

Ah, the one that started it all. As a young teenage, fresh off Way Of The Clans, being able to fight as a Jade Falcon was too cool. It may have started with the book as I said, but this game is what kept me in.

MechWarrior 5 Clans' expansion Ghost Bear Flash Storm is arguably the MechWarrior series best narrative campaign to date. And I am not just saying that as a die-hard Ghost Bear fan who thinks Elementals are super-awesome and commanding them is the next best thing to an actual Elemental game which they should totally make I have ideas.

...whew. Anyhoo, moving on.

One of my all-time favorites, Harebrained Schemes' excellent BattleTech game. Not only is the campaign itself an outstanding masterpiece, but the core gameplay loop itself is really enjoyable. I can make it as tough or as easy as I like. Because sometimes you want a challenge, and sometimes you just want to flatten half a company with a single artillery shell.

$MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries. Starting you in 3015 and running all the way up to 3060(as of October 6th this year), this allows you to be a part of all of the major events of the Inner Sphere. The 4th Succession War, the Ronin Wars, the War of 3039, the Clan Invasion, the fracture of the Federated Commonwealth, and soon, the reformation of the Star League. There's simply no other BattleTech game that packs in this much history and it just keeps getting better. Hats off to PGI.$

#mechtober day3! Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries was my intro to Battletech and still one of my all-time favorite games. I quickly followed it up with the core game and the other expansions, original MW, and both Crescent Hawk games. Been hooked ever since.

Third day of BattleTech's #mechtober is video games. I first played #Battletech on sega genesis and was obsessed with its two player mode of one person drives and the other works the torso and shoot. Then came mechwarrior 2, I obsessed over these games and each sequel.

It’s Saturday! You inow what that means! #Mechwarrior5 is here!

It is also an auspicious day being #Mechtober 3rd dedicated to video games and this series was all about a Father sharing a love of #Battletech with his son

Video games let you immerse yourself in the universe. You have a story, you grow, expand, and see the universe in a different way. There is weight to the 'Mechs, a sound.
Mechwarrior V allows me to participate in key periods in the setting.
