Shrek Superslam (PS2) was a alright little arena brawler. Has the cast of Shrek and other than that, nothing really stands out. Later half of the story mode gets rough with a 1 vs 3 and you can easily lose track of your character due to too much going on. 3/5 #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

I’ve heard a lot of people talk about this so I decided to try it out. I thought this one was really good. This one has a lot of cool mechanics and content in it. Some parts were better than others but it’s still a really fun game.

Decent beat em up based of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Sprite work was great and the enemy variety was nice but it doesn't do much else to be great. Some bosses just spam their special attacks which was really frustrating. @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Orbitals is a stunning co-op experience. This title is basically a classic anime season you can play with your friend or partner.
The presentation and music are top tier, and so are the puzzles!

#JustBeatIt @polykillpodcast.bsky.social No.136 Puzzle Bobble 3 DX (PS1). Naturally the game is good and a lot of fun, but I did find a lot harder than previous titles. Time is much more limited in this entry (or at least it felt so for me) and I definitely had some trouble on some of the stages.

Good gated exploration platformer Playdate. Took me over 3 hours to get credits and only got half of the main collectibles. Enjoyed my time but there was some tedium around falling down platforms and redoing sections a lot.

#JustBeatIt @polykillpodcast.bsky.social No.133 R•Type DX (GBC). Apart from the colors, this version is identical to the original title. However, it does feature a lot less slowdown, making it quite a bit harder. A great game nonetheless.

#JustBeatIt @polykillpodcast.bsky.social No.132 R•Type II DX (GBC). Definitly harder than its predecessor, but still fairly manageable, especially after a couple of runs when you memorize the stages. It's a very neat game, with a good variety of stages and bosses. For sure recommended!

Another cool Cave bullet hell shooter. I really liked the kakusei mode mechanic since bullet slowdown was very helpful for me. The art is fantastic and I loved the backgrounds. Boss fights were very tough but manageable. Good times! @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Vholume is an excellent parkour indie game set in a series of brutalist architecture landscapes with the occasional weird little dude to say hi to. It's like if mirrors edge was made by an early '00s pc game studio. Also, there are leaderboards.
So fun!
