Use this webcam to help time your South Rim arrival. During fall weekends and holidays, there can be long lines and up to two hour wait times between 10 am and 4 pm. This view refreshes every 5 minutes. Be sure to check the time and date in the image, to be sure it is current. The entrance station is about 1.6 miles (2.5 km) north of the gateway town of Tusayan, Arizona, and 4.9 miles (7.8 km) south of Grand Canyon Visitor Center.

Sourcing wood like this is difficult. Defects like this bark inclusion are often tossed aside, but the local sawyers here in Kentucky manage to keep me supplied. This carving focus on Bright Angel Canyon and its intersection with the Colorado River in the heart of the Grand Canyon.

I was able to watch dusk fall over the Grand Canyon from a perch about 2/3rd up from the canyon floor. There is about a one-mile vertical elevation change in the Grand Canyon - quite a hike with a pack on your back!

Hiking out of the Grand Canyon last October, I was able to watch dusk fall over the canyon from a perch about 2/3rd up from the canyon floor. There is about a one-mile vertical elevation change in the Grand Canyon - quite a hike with a pack on your back!
