We've published new version of Corvus.JsonSchema this week. Not only do we have an ultra-fast standalone #dotnet validator (the fastest on any platform) but we have versions for #TypeScript (and #JavaScript), and #Rust now.

Most devs use type guards everywhere, but assertion functions actually narrow types *after* they throw—meaning your error handling logic is invisible to TypeScript's type system until you restructure it.
The Microsoft sentence that broke all our tooling: “While TypeScript 7.0 is here, it does not ship with an API.”
Svelte, Astro, Vue Volar, Angular compiler, MDX, and basically any AST-based generators/codegen
Let's hope 7.1 brings all they need
New article 🔧
TypeScript Compiler API guards narrow AST nodes well — but reusable parent + child narrowing gets awkward.
I explored property refinement with `is-kit`, plus what changes (and doesn’t) in TypeScript 7.

Can anyone recommend an article or code example of a #Typescript or #NodeJS app settings service/registry? i.e. The thing that your app goes to when it needs any particular setting, that abstracts away dotenv and db backed settings to one interface.

👀 worth a look
TypeScript's `this` parameter lets you catch binding bugs that `strict` mode misses—turns out most developers never use it, and your callbacks are probably broken right now.
Dev Diary 4, 'Understory'. What good is procedurally generated planet with nothing in it? The logical first step seemed to be vegetation and rocks. So looked at how to create those systems in the game as well as a tool that generates the art assets themselves #webgpu #typescript
One TypeScript 7 surprise:
`node.kind === SyntaxKind.CallExpression`
does NOT make a broad `ast.Node` behave like a closed discriminated union.
That changed how I thought about reusable Compiler API guards.
I’ll publish the full write-up tomorrow. 🔧
TypeScript 7 changed the Compiler API surface, but one thing surprised me:
a broad `ast.Node` still isn’t a closed discriminated union.
So `kind === CallExpression` doesn’t replace `isX` narrowing for that input.
Full write-up tomorrow. 🔧

TypeScript's `Partial` only goes one level deep, so your nested object types might still enforce required fields where you least expect them—here's why `DeepPartial` isn't always the answer.
