Once La'An a Time #StarTrek #SNW
I enjoyed this one. It was a good back story for La'An. For 5 seconds, she let out her character's inner bimbo, >:), which was fun to watch. For some reason, Pike is too good at acting the coward, lol
I saw on IMDB that it was rated the worse so far, 4.3 stars. Yikes

Let's be honest: La'An the most uncomfortable wrench in the lore of Trek in a long while. #SNW

But dammit if Christina Chong doesn't just have crackling chemistry with everybody all the time and I can imagine that it makes it very easy to write those plots.

Have fun storming the castle 🏰! Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Season 4

#SNW was mostly a misfire for me this week. While I thought it ended quite strong, and did feature some meaningful character exploration for La'An, I felt it was mostly overwhelmed by the mixed results of the fantasy mechanics of the story and the forced connection back to "The Elysian Kingdom". 🤷‍♂️

Thursdays mean #Trek!

(I happen to have just listened to the Far Beyond the Stars ep of @tawnynewsome.bsky.social's pod Starter Trek, with @andrewti.bsky.social & @jessiegender.bsky.social, & it was the most beautiful examination of that episode, of what it meant & still means, & honestly #SNW, what were you thinking?)

#SNW, which I once called "the most perfect iteration of Roddenberry's vision" (pls don't @ me), has made the bold choice to reverse the traditional trajectory for a Trek series, & rather than start weak-to-terrible & end strong-to-great, has gone the other way. It bums me out. 🫤

I hated it less than I hated the first one...?

But did it HAVE to be by Benny Russell
