~ 'sleep wouldn't come'

My poetry ~ ©️Catherine Beavis
(Surrounded by a border of musical notes)
.
sleep wouldn't come
on those loneliest of nights
so she plays the memories of their melody
for it was never just a song
but a beautiful connection
as she savours those poetic lyrics
stirring her melancholic soul
making her wistful heart dance
laying awake
adrift in romantic evocations
knowing within her reveries
she will be wondrously wrapped
within the rhythm of him
admist her sentimental starry solitude
and as their song ends
before sleep finally comes
she wonders
if he ever thinks of her
like she thinks of him
those moments they shared
soaked in breathless passion
nurturing each other's dreams
or is she forgotten to his past
no longer a thought
nor even a fading echo
of their once exquisite love

Back then, we learned to
#nurture love’s trembling flame.

And for a long time we thrived
in its warmth.

I’ve forgotten so much.

But not that.

we should
try
to #nurture
all
humanity
and
all sentient
and non
sentient
things
anyhow
that's the vision
in reality
we pass it on
to something
else
in our prayers
meditations
chants

Nora loops her arm through Bob's as they walk. He shares a crushed granola bar, and she rests her head on his shoulder while a beetle crawls across his shoe. She jokes it's on a stroll too. Later at home, Bob knows exactly what she wants: big cuddles, time to #nurture.

We can't expect things to grow if we aren't willing to nurture them.

Give your time and energy to the beautiful things you want more of in your life.

Water your garden. ♡
