Ernsthaft, @adwmainz.bsky.social?

The 11th C? Landnámabók (The Icelandic Book of Settlements) states that Irish monks had been living in Iceland before the arrival of Norse settlers - left behind reminders of their stay - Irish books, bells, & croziers, helping the Norse to identify their predecessors. #medievalsky #LeifEriksonDay

[Image description: dark blue, starry night sky background with a medieval manuscript image of a woman in a pink gown floating into frame from the left] "Feminine Micro-History: Dante's Depiction of Female Characters in the Divine Comedy" presented by Paola Rodriguez, released October 2026[Image description: dark blue, starry night sky background with a medieval manuscript image of a woman in a pink gown floating into frame from the left] "Feminine Micro-History: Dante's Depiction of Female Characters in the Divine Comedy" presented by Paola Rodriguez, released October 2026. A consideration of the four main female historical figures of Dante’s contemporary Florence in the Divine Comedy. These four characters will be looked at in their historical context in order to examine them as micro-historical episodes used by Dante to criticize and denounce certain societal mores of his time. The theory of micro-history itself will be established as a central device in Dante’s narratorial structuring, lending itself to the process of historical redressing of injustices.
