You know, I really haven't given any of my characters phobias. Everyone's fears come from past experiences/traumas.
I don't have anyone who's just afraid of spiders or anything, but it's something I should think about.

In #S3, Rebecca is terrified of letting people see her as less than composed. She's not put together in her novel at all. In a more traditional phobia sense, she is terrified of spiders, drowning, and mold/dirt/rusty things and the illnesses those can cause.

MC Phobias
Zel doesn't fear much, since he's already dead, but he does not like dealing with the gods (they can still affect his afterlife.)
8) MC Phobias
Renard doesn't have any phobias. His fears are perfectly reasonable.
I have a phobia of big moths. Can't stand them!
#FantasyIndiesSpooktober 8: MC Phobias
In NOMARA, Kate doesn't really have phobias. But as a shuttle pilot she does have a great fear of abandonment, of being stranded or lost and then her ship/people don't try to find or rescue her. She's seen it happen.
Almost all of my stories are in Deep 3rd Person POV and past tense. I like how close it allows you to get to the character while also giving you more options to refer to them than just “I”.
Most of my work tends to be MC POV-centric and 3rd person tense.
The Faumen War Chronicles is a rare exception in that it use multiple POVs from both the protagonist & antagonist side.
Day 7 of #FantasyIndiesSpooktober
I don't really have any specific POV/tense preferences. For me, story is everything: as long as it's a good story, I can adapt to any number of POVs and/or tenses.

7. POV/Tense
When I began, I wrote in 1st person, but have since gained an appreciation for 3rd. I find it allows for more perspectives and gives off the feeling of telling a tale rather than recounting one.
I've only ever written in past tense for the same reason.
Day 7. POV preference.
Typically third person omniscient. But I do dabble in first person.

07: POV and tense preferences
Writing: 3rd person, past tense
Reading: no preference, if it's good it's good
#FantasyIndiesSpooktober Day 7: POV and tense preferences. Almost everything I've written has been first-person; that's the way the stories come to me. I've only written a few short pieces in present tense, though for some reason the story I'm contemplating now is coming to me in present tense.

Day 7: POV and Tense preferences
I enjoy 3rd person limited because it has the distance of omniscient and the intimacy of first person. That said, I like seeing what can be done with all POVs and tenses. Omniscient can play with things characters hide from each other.
#FantasyIndiesSpooktober 7
I prefer to write in close third past, with the exception of anything about Simon who, for reasons I still don't know, much prefers to be written about in first person present.
I'll read anything in any POV or tense if it looks interesting though.

Antagonist more than villain, but Zaínn is a ljusalfa music journalist who had an nsfw encounter with Blake at a club, then a day or two later was bemused to find news announcing Blake's engagement to a singer. Of course he's gonna look into it, even if it ruins careers.

POV and tense preferences?
Mielea's Lost is third person with several POVs.
Project Trapezoid is in first person. So far I'm trying to keep it two POVs. It's still a rough draft, so that could change in the next draft.

7. I tend to do first person, one POV, or third person with multiple POVs.
Just realized this month is supposed to be under the hashtag #FantasyIndiesSpooktober instead? Whoops.
#fantasyindiesspooktober Day 7 POV/tense
I have a strong preference for past tense, though I've read some fanfic in present tense that didn't completely throw me off.
I usually write in third person, occasionally first. For reading, I'm good with either. Never been comfortable with second person.
