Amnesty's list of countries that execute every single year: China. Iran. North Korea. Saudi Arabia. The USA.

Mask off. It was us all along.

Because the United States enabled torture, full stop.

#politicalcartoon #editorialcartoon #christapike #deathpenalty

Editorial cartoon by T.W. Amburgey: a police lineup of four hooded executioners holding placards reading China, Iran, North Korea and Saudi Arabia. Beside them, the cartoonist peels a rubber Uncle Sam face away to reveal the same black executioner hood underneath; Uncle Sam holds a USA placard and a Human Rights Report. Caption: IT WAS US ALL ALONG.

Tennessee cleared the way to kill Christa Pike tonight. She's not innocent. That was never the point.

"I was in prison, and ye visited me not… Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire." — Matthew 25

Their messiah, not mine.

Two-panel editorial cartoon. Left: Christa Pike, in an orange jumpsuit, strapped to a lethal-injection gurney while Jesus stands beside her holding out his hand, captioned "Today shalt thou be with me in paradise," Luke 23:43. Right: Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee in hell with blood dripping from his hands and a burning clipboard reading "Clemency Denied," surrounded by churchgoers in Sunday clothes with bloody raised hands crying "Lord, Lord!" Caption: "Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire," Matthew 25:41. Signed T.W. Amburgey.

Joel Pett flips the script: “I was going after criminals” sounds rather different when Lady Justice starts reading the charges back to the enforcer. ⚖️🚨 Satire with the presumption of righteousness stripped away. #ICE #RuleOfLaw #EditorialCartoon

Joel Pett editorial cartoon, dated 29-Sep-2026. Across four upper panels, a blindfolded Lady Justice reads an escalating list of charges: “breaking and entering,” “burglary, battery, manslaughter, unlawful restraint,” then “corruption, human trafficking, sexual assault, coercion, extortion, kidnapping, terrorism,” before asking, “How do you plead?” In the large lower panel, an ICE officer in tactical gear and a black face covering raises a baton and answers, “I WAS GOING AFTER CRIMINALS.” Lady Justice recoils, one hand raised. The courtroom around them is battered and disordered, reinforcing the cartoon’s central reversal: the supposed enforcer is now the accused, confronted with the kinds of criminal conduct invoked to justify enforcement.

Sister Helen Prejean, the nun behind Dead Man Walking, says Christa Pike was abused as a child and the jury never heard it. The 6th Circuit halted the execution an hour out to look at that. Tennessee wants SCOTUS to undo it.

I've met her. I'm with @sisterhelen.org.

Ink-and-wash editorial cartoon. At night, an older woman and a bald, bearded man in glasses stand side by side holding lit candles outside a razor-wire fence. Beyond it, a massive floodlit prison has one lit window. Caption: "This is not justice." — Sr. Helen Prejean.

A Hillsboro resident documented Klan flyers with a phone, for free. Our paper, the Times-Gazette, ran wildlife officers and the Bengals. Put us on your masthead or do your damn job.

#politicalcartoon #satire #editorialcartoon #hillsboro

Editorial cartoon. At a kitchen table late at night, a furious middle-aged man in glasses and a work shirt gestures at his laptop, which shows The Times-Gazette's news page listing: "Ohio Farm Bureau president makes gas tax statement," "Highland County S.O. Reports," "Hillsboro FFA members participate in Junior Fair Board," "Lady Tigers soccer topples Cavs, 3-2," and "Bengals deserved to lose." He shouts, "The Klan was reported in our town. Where's the story?!" A crumpled Klan flyer reading only "Neighborhood Watch," its bottom blacked out, lies on the table. Caption: "Dereliction of duty."Screenshot of The Times-Gazette's website front page as of 11 a.m. Sept 30, 2026, with its photos and an ad redacted, showing local news and sports headlines and no story about the Ku Klux Klan flyers.

See a flyer? Report it.
FBI: https://tips.fbi.gov
DOJ: https://civilrights.justice.gov
Sheriff: (937) 393-1421

Sheriff Sanders: citizens are doing your investigating for you. Put us on payroll or do your damn job.

@splcenter.org #politicalcartoon #satire #editorialcartoon #hillsboro

Editorial cartoon, split in two by a zigzagging phone cord. Left: at night, a frightened young mother presses a phone to her ear beside her front door while hooded Klansmen with torches stand outside the window and her small child peeks from the hallway. Her laptop shows two open sites, tips.fbi.gov and civilrights.justice.gov. Right: a Highland County Sheriff's deputy in a headset takes the call at his desk. Standing on the desk, Mr. Pocket, a walking pocket Constitution with spectacles and a red bow tie, points at the deputy while holding open the 14th Amendment: "...nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws." He says, "She did her part. Now do yours." Caption: "Report it: Sheriff. FBI. DOJ. Then vote."
@twamburgey.bsky.socialSep 30, 2026, 3:02 PM

The flyer. A Hillsboro resident posted publicly that it "was being left on people's doors in Hillsboro last night." Every word is theirs. Their contact info stays blacked out.

#politicalcartoon #satire #editorialcartoon #hillsboro

Editorial cartoon. An older Black woman in a bathrobe and slippers sits on her front porch steps at dawn, chin in her hand, looking unimpressed. She holds up a Ku Klux Klan flyer headed "Neighborhood Watch," showing a hooded figure pointing beside a security camera, with the text "No NEED for FLOCK When Were on the Block. You can sleep Sound tonight The Klan is AWAKE." The flyer's contact information is covered by a black bar stamped "Not giving you the click." More flyers are scattered on her lawn. Caption: "In their own words."

Klan flyers hit Worthington and Clintonville Sept 28–29, confirmed by police and WOSU. A Hillsboro resident documented the same flyers on doors here. Not alleging William Bader dropped these — but his group's name is on them.

#politicalcartoon #satire #editorialcartoon #hillsboro

Editorial cartoon. On a small-town street at night, William Bader stands in a white Klan robe with his hood pulled off and tucked under his arm, wearing a button reading "William Bader — Self-Proclaimed Imperial Wizard." He holds a bag of "Neighborhood Watch" flyers and flinches, shielding his eyes from flashlight beams. Three hooded Klansmen cower behind him. Across the street, five unarmed neighbors of different races stand behind a picket fence in front of their lit homes, pointing flashlights and recording on their phones, while a child watches from a window. Caption: "You're awake? So are we."

John Roberts, 2022: disagreeing with the Court "is not a basis for questioning the legitimacy of the court."

I'm not questioning it. I'm saying it. This Court abandoned the Constitution. It has no legitimacy left.

#politicalcartoon #satire #editorialcartoon #scotus

Editorial cartoon. Three faceless figures in black judicial robes and yellow hard hats swing sledgehammers at a column labeled DUE PROCESS on the Supreme Court steps; a crack splits 'EQUAL JUSTICE UNDER LAW' above them. Rubble fills a wheelbarrow, one chunk marked '5TH AMEND.' A barricade reads 'EMERGENCY DOCKET — PARDON OUR DUST.' Three robed figures stand apart holding a sign: 'WOULD HAVE DENIED.' Caption: ORAL ARGUMENTS IN DECEMBER.

The Pentagon's own inspector general found his Signal chat could have put troops in danger. His answer? Clear out the generals who might tell him no.

Pete Hegseth is a clear and present danger to this planet. @deptofwar.bsky.social

#politicalcartoon #satire #editorialcartoon #hegseth

Editorial cartoon. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, grinning and waving a cowboy hat, rides a falling bomb stenciled "DEPT. OF DEFENSE" like a rodeo bull, shouting "YEE-HAW!" Pink slips stream off him into the Pentagon war room below, where a ring of empty chairs holds officers' caps and placards reading "POSITION ELIMINATED" and "DOWNGRADED." One aide stands alone at the table, staring up in horror. Caption: "HOW I LEARNED TO STOP WORRYING AND FIRE THE GENERALS." Signed T.W. Amburgey.

Trump voters are responsible for the death of American democracy. Full fucking stop.

You were warned for ten years. Sorry doesn't pay for the diesel, the groceries, or the people you handed him.

November. Don't make us bury the rest.

#politicalcartoon #satire #editorialcartoon

Editorial cartoon. At a run-down gas station with diesel at $6.00, a crying woman in a MAGA hat and a "Regretful Trump Voter" button holds out a huge glittery "SORRY!" card and says "I'm SO sorry!" Facing her, stone-faced and not reaching for it, are a trucker holding a diesel nozzle, a farmer with a long farm-supply bill, a mother with a grocery receipt that ends "still not enough," and a teenager with a trans-flag pin, arms crossed. The caption reads: "All the sorrys in the world don't help us now."
