But this is so far the best picture of a #whitewagtail I have taken, so it's the obvious choice for me.

My #BestOfTheMonth for today’s #BirdOfTheDay is this over-confident mockingbird. He appears to think he’s an eagle or something by his pose. From a photography perspective, the light and focus are perfect (not always the case for me).

My favorite bird sighting and photo was this little #Leucistic House Finch. Quite exciting when a special bird like this shows up in your back yard.

The #BirdOfTheDay assignment is #BestOfTheMonth. I can never pick a best, so here's one I didn't have a chance to post previously. The white-breated nuthatches arrived earlier this month and have been quietly honking away in the background ever since.

For today’s #BirdOfTheDay theme, #BestOfTheMonth, I offer these Glaucous-winged Gulls (Larus glaucescens) & Steller sea lions (Eumetopias jubatus) at a fish hatchery in Valdez, AK where the salmon had returned to lay their eggs. I had a guest lecturer gig on two 10-day Viking cruises in Alaska.
