#31nightsofhorror “Dave made a Maze” visual creativity abounds in this horror comedy about a depressed guy who makes a cardboard maze that winds up absorbing him and his friends into it. overall I really enjoyed it but I feel the themes and characters just didn’t land for me

8. Evil Dead Burn. These deadites sure know how to mutilate human bodies, but I miss Raimi’s touch. #31nightsofhorror
7. The Empty Man. The first 20 minutes are great, the middle is ok, the ending is better again. Cosmic Horror that never chickens out by naming a Lovecraft monster. Looks spectacular.
5. Bride of Re-Animator. First rewatch on the list. I think I liked it more now than when it was released. Some spectacular effects, quite a few laughs. #31nightsofhorror
4. Resident Evil. Big surprise! I liked this a lot. Not as clever as Zach Cregger’s earlier movies & all the better for it. #31nightsofhorror
3. Suitable Flesh. A project Stuart Gordon was working on when he passed away. Script by Dennis Paoli. I really wanted to like this more than I did. #31nightsofhorror
2. We Bury The Dead. A zombie movie that managed to surprise me a bit. #31nightsofhorror
I started early (sue me!) but I hope that means I’ll manage to get through my list.
First out was Berberian Sound Studio, which unsurprisingly has some of the best audio design you’ll ever hear. #31nightsofhorror
2026 watch #175 - Ready or Not 2: Here I Come (2026). The first was a romp, the sequel adds more plot armour than you can take a bloody stick at. Still quite a bit of fun, and always good to see Elijah Wood in something. #31NightsofHorror
Last night, we started our annual #31nightsofhorror viewing for October. I think it's the 15th year we've been doing it now? We have the full schedule worked out and Blu-rays and tickets all secured.
#31nightsofhorror second movie of night 1: Marshmallow (2025). So this movie was doing nothing for me the first act. the acting was poor, the writing was weak…and then act 2 hits And it becomes a slasher with a twist. By the end it was pretty solid. a nice surprise
