Anyone know of an equivalent to the 13 French Science Fiction Stories anthology for German #SFinTranslation? Like, a collection of German stories from the 50s and 60s published in the 60s or 70s?

@rachelcordasco.bsky.socialReading 13 FRENCH SCIENCE FICTION STORIES has made me think of the excellent Romanian anthology TWELVE, with stories from the 60s-80s (pub'd in English in 1995):

@rachelcordasco.bsky.socialThis 1959 anthology from F&SF features a Jules Verne story (1887) that was discovered and translated by I. O. Evans and first published in F&SF in 1958.

@rachelcordasco.bsky.socialOk, just figuring out why I love Henneberg's stories. They're over the top, out of control. One has to have some special kind of confidence to write them. Very interested in seeing what Henneberg sounds like from other translators (The Green Gods arrives in the mail soon!).
@rachelcordasco.bsky.socialWe're up to 68 works of long-form #SFinTranslation so far this year, and I'm sure there will be more!
@rachelcordasco.bsky.socialMore Intan Paramaditha!
Night of a Thousand Hells, translated from the Indonesian by Stephen Epstein and Tiffany Tsao, from @europaeditions.bsky.social. Out in October.

@rachelcordasco.bsky.socialSo Nathalie Henneberg's "Moon-Fishers" (1959) translated by Damon Knight (1962) is the precursor to Stargate? 🤔

@rachelcordasco.bsky.socialSpeaking of zany French #SFinTranslation, I will say for the 53287th time that you need to read DESPERATE GAMES by Pierre Boulle, the guy who wrote PLANET OF THE APES.
@rachelcordasco.bsky.socialThis looks absolutely BONKERS.

@rachelcordasco.bsky.socialMore Henneberg is coming up soon from Black Coat Press:
@rachelcordasco.bsky.socialNot gonna lie, some of these stories are...um...bad. Like, really bad. I read this collection a while ago and absolutely couldn't remember any of it, so I'm reading it again as an intro to my #SFinTranslation In-Depth series, starting with French SFT.
