Mike Leigh’s "Tender Loving Care" and Radu Jude’s "The Diary of a Chambermaid" offer very different slices of life in contemporary Europe. #nyff #nyff64 #film #filmsky

New York Film Festival 2026 Review: Sebastian Stan in ‘Fjord’—the Palme d’Or winner has its New York premiere at the 2026 NYFF. Our #moviereview: blogcritics.org/new-york-fil... #NYFF #film #movies #CristianMungiu #Fjord
Back at Walter Reade — MIKE LEIGH TIME!!! And then… Radu Jude time! I don’t know if I’ll understand that pairing better on the other side but we’ll see in a couple of hours #NYFF @filmlinc.bsky.social
also was very charmed by Jordan Firstman's CLUB KID and its textured, vibrant New York nightlife milieu brimming with dolls, DJs, and vivid life: www.slantmagazine.com/film/club-ki...

it's #NYFF time! doing some stuff for @slantmagazine.com ! first up, was left pretty cold by Ira Sachs' THE MAN I LOVE; the creative world is interesting, but it's sunk by Rami Malek's twitchy, clenched-jawed performance:

‘tis the season #nyff
Only three movies at #NYFF today — gonna take a break in the afternoon to actually try to write something before my brain explodes, imagine that! So today it’s Emmanuel Marre’s A MAN OF HIS TIME, Nicolás Pereda’s EVERYTHING ELSE IS NOISE, and Jordan Firstman’s CLUB KID @filmlinc.bsky.social
I just have to say that it’s become such a routine occurrence, binge-watching four straight up great films in a row at #NYFF. This festival is a constant reward. My eyes hurt from crying today but ‘twas all worth it!
Day two’s full day #NYFF docket is feeding me Ryûsuke Hamaguchi’s ALL OF A SUDDEN, Chuko Esiri’s CLARISSA, Marine Atlan’s LA GRADIVA and wheeeee Ira Sachs’ THE MAN I LOVE!!
On today’s full day #NYFF docket, nothin but one word titles — FJORD, NAZA, MINOTAUR and EVERYTIME
So, the films I managed to get #NYFF tickets for:
Club Kid
Misty Green
A Long Winter
Naza
Nowhere to Lay My Eyes
Nitrate Kisses (4K restoration)
Up on @ink19.bsky.social is our review of Ana Vaz's Hanabi! Vaz adapts Yoko Hayasuke’s essay, Journal of a Radioactive Brain, into a multi-layered exploration of effects of the Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear accident. Hanabi will have its U.S. premiere at #NYFF on 10/8 & 10/9!
